In case yall were wondering the story behind the shoe banging incident, basically Lorenzo Sumulong agreed with Khrushchev that the Western Powers should grant their colonies independence, but then turned it around on the USSR saying that they should ALSO grant their satellite states independence. Khrushchev demanded to be at the podium and started a long rant saying that Sumulong is a stooge and a lackey of the imperialists. Assembly President Frederick Boland allowed Sumulong back to the podium which made Khrushchev even madder and wanted Boland to recognize him on a point of order. Boland didn't recognize him and Khrushchev started banging his shoe

Given the """anti-imperialists""" on twitter excusing or celebrating what's been done to Ukrainians for nearly 2 years now, makes sense to me.

It should not be surprising that the million dollar questions are often rather obscure trivia questions that most people won't know lol.

@@BLSoldier00 Most of them probably just lucky guessed, that was the most unfair and obscure million dollar question on the history of the US version of the show IMO. Clearly thrown at the poor kid because they knew he knew everything and didn't have to use a lifeline until the last question.

Turkey is the obvious choice in that last question. That's why for a million dollars that couldn't possibly be the answer. They would never make it that easy.
