Oh my goodness, I was just reading about that little detail today and actually paid attention to it and remembered the Biblical account of a similar event! Thanks so much for putting more light into that event! AMULEK sounded like he was prom a generation of righteous men but as he admitted, he followed the hardness of his heart and therefore he was now grateful to be the means for a holy prophet to be assisted. Amulek is amazing! And ALMA appeared to be a great friend to him too, after all his family members disgraced him as part of them, ALMA took him to his own home and comforted him. What a great friendship and example to all of us!

I'm confused. The stories in Daniel didn't take place until after Lehi left Jerusalem. Any correlation between Aminadi and the story in Daniel is not because the Nephites knew of the story, becauae they didn't. Any correlation is because God has a similar way of working with disparate peoples! I guess my point is, only we see the connection to Daniel, and the connection is for us in the latter days -- the Nephites wouldn't have known of it, right? Or am I missing something?

Yes, so the point is that Amulek might have used his genealogy and that particular important event that occurred (when one of his ancestors interpreted the writings on the wall) for a reason. Maybe he did so in order to bring the people's memory to it and teach them something. What was he teaching them? Well, looking at a similar event, that is when Daniel interpreted the writings on the wall by which God was admonishing the King, this suggests that Amulek was reminding them of an admonition as well, not necessarily because he knew of Daniel's story, but because it might be a similar or possible reason for which he should mention a so similar and particular event.

I a Panjabi living the UK. I joined the church in 1980. I want to say that this kind of video is beyond non-members understanding. Someone should make video for all seekers of truth.

We're all at different levels, even members of The Church. 🤷🙂 If someone doesn't understand, they'll either not be interested in this video or want to learn more about the gospel.

Except we have archaeological evidence of Balshazzar and the Medo Persian war with Babylon is well attested. Aminadi is just a story. No such culture has been found. To me this would indicate that this story is just a copy of the Daniel 5 occurrence.

Just curious, do you believe in the story of Adam & Eve and the Garden of Eden from Genesis since we have no archaeological evidence? Or really any story from the Bible for which there is no archaeological evidence? Should we base our testimonies of God and Jesus off of archaeology? Surely you would agree that we cannot base our faith off of archaeology but we can and should base our faith in Jesus Christ? M

@@cameronreed1411 On the contrary, God does not expect blind faith. 2 Pet. 1:16. The Bible was written in a real culture in real time. That much has been proven without a doubt. I have personally walked Hezekiah’s tunnel. Regarding Adam and Eve, that is rooted in the testimony of Jesus, Who proved His authority by raising from the dead. A miracle witnessed by over 500 people.

@@PrairieChristianOutreachI'm confused. You say, "The Bible was written in a real culture in real time." Are you maintaining it was the only real culture in that time? Were there not other cultures? When the tower of Babel occurred and the Lord confounded the language, what happened to all those people? Did they not scatter across the earth? Do you believe they all died off in their various locations? If they did indeed continue on, do you think they had no means of keeping record? Likewise, do you believe the Lord would leave them to fend for themselves? Does He seem like a God that would only worry for the people who lived in Jerusalem/Babylon and the surrounding areas? When Christ had risen He said He had to visit His other people, John 10:16 "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." Could this not mean other people in other parts of the world? If Jesus could indeed ascend to Heaven and descend from there, could He not do so to other areas of the world? Also, if He commanded those prophets in the Bible to write and keep record of His words, would He not want the "other people" to keep record of their experiences with Him? How do you imagine He would like those people to care for those records? Would they not be equally important in His eyes? Perhaps in some areas of the world wars were occurring. Does that seem possible? Perhaps in order to protect those records the Lord commanded that record keeper to hide them where the Lord would keep them safe until such a time as He saw fit for them to come forth. Wouldn't He have the power to do so? The timeline of those "other people" is simultaneous with the timeline in the Bible. Were there not people living in the Americas before they were "discovered" by Columbus? If you widen your lense, don't you see people living in all parts of the world at the time Jesus walked the earth? You are correct, God does not want you to have blind faith. In John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things. . ." God wants you to search for Him in all things using the Holy Ghost to guide you and confirm to you the truth of those things. I urge you not to discount something because you haven't "personally walked" it. Study it with an open heart and the guidance of the Spirit. God bless.
