It is not speculation that Melchizedek was one of the priestly names of Shem, the other name being Adonizedek. The Book of Jasher says so. The last compilation of that book is as old as those of the rest of the Old Testament writings. Moreover, the books of Joshua, 2 Samuel, and 2 Timothy make reference to the book of Jasher.

Well Abraham was a descendant of Melchizedek. Melchizedek is Shem and was taught about God from Noah.

"The Lamb, slain from the creation of the world." - Revelation 13:8. Eternal Father TRUTH, His Spirit unconditional LOVE; His Son the eternal FORM of God - Exodus 4:22-23 and Exodus 12:37-38. There is only One High Priest of God. Only one FORM in which God (TRUTH and LOVE) stands visible in His one and only ever begotten bodily FORM. Only One spokesman of eternal Father TRUTH - Jesus is His Name. God stood in His visible FORM to speak with Moses - Numbers 12:8. That FORM was Jesus. God stood in His visible FORM to speak with Abraham - John 8:56 - they called Him Melchizedek in those days. The Israelites were accompanied by a FORM of fire and cloud when they exited Egypt - Jude 5 - Jesus was His Name because God can take on any FORM God so desires to take upon Himself. Every time the Old Testament speaks of the angel of the LORD it speaks of Jesus. Daniel saw Him and was instructed by Him - Daniel 10:4-6. Long before the creation of the world when the angels of heaven rebelled, Jesus was slain just as men put to death TRUTH and LOVE in their own minds and hearts today as Hebrews 6:4-6 explains and so crucify Christ all over again and subject Him to public disgrace. Jesus is the One True God and eternal life (1 John 5:20), the First and the Last of Isaiah 44:6 and Revelation 1:17-18 and there is no other God besides Him (Isaiah 44:8. Jesus alone "IS" LORD, the LORD God Almighty Himself, creator of Heaven and earth and all that is in them - John 1:3 and Colossians 1:16-20. Denial of the identity of God will be the eternal death of all who do not accept this revelation.
