How do you handle the chaos of a convention? Will you be at GENCON?

Definitely going to Gen Con. Being local makes it a bit easier on my wife and I. Usually, we're in the convention hall most of the day, but we know we have our own bed to go home to at the end of the day. We also don't mind walking just a bit further from the convention center to hit up restaurants that might be off the typical Gen Con visitors radar.

Origins was my first con!! It was more exhausting than I thought it would be, but great prep for Gen Con. On Sunday we found a spot WAY in the back of the open tables area where we could play some games away from the chaos. Origins was so much fun, but I definitely spent most of Monday in bed watching KZbin and Netflix. I'm pretty sure my body is not ready for the amount of working/networking I will be doing at Gen Con, but I'm super excited and can't wait to meet more of my Twitch family. I TOTALLY took the Monday after off work so I can recover 😅

It really bothers me when I hear young people say stuff like Jessie said at 00:36… I’ve been married 28 years. Raised three beautiful children. So please believe me when I say - you don’t have to go everywhere and do everything with your wife at all times. Being “one” with your wife means that you put that person equal to yourself in consideration. They are your partner, not your shadow. You can still do separate stuff. Just remember that - whatever you do alone should also take that person into consideration.

You may only be at your best when you are with that other person, but it is important not to let that diminish who you are without them. It's 1+1=2, and 2 is general better than 1. Not 0.5 + 0.5 = 1, because that just diminishes you both, and yeah, it often doesn't lead to good places.

@@deano2099 Not a "no choice thing" much more about how you connect as people. Judaism believes that we are one being, one soul, connected and not made complete in this world until we find and connect with our partner. This is not the classic "soul mate" in the sense that you only have one match - but that once you are married you have chosen and been destined to be together. You are both reflections of each other, both part of one being, both responsible for each others growth, health, and security. The jewish world has much lower rates of divorce and infidelity than the secular world largely due to structures like this. That value the couple and the relationship over one person remaining a "individual".

I personally use Campfire Cards or Alleyoop cards for my conversation cards! They are great. Also, my wife has celiac disease and literally can’t eat any gluten or else she gets hospitalized. It’s tough to go places..

Honestly we went into the con not sure how we would be received . . . once we got there. We got pulled to the side by so many publishers and content creators letting us know they were sorry for the firestorm the internet had become, they think we are in the right, and that we should keep making content and moving forward. The rumors and miss communication cost us a lot as a channel. However, the industry overall and the people who know us believe this whole mess is overblown by a magnitude of 7.

We have lots of time apart :) we are talking about two elements of our relationship. One, we, in the jewish tradition - believe that we one one being now that we are married. One whole person - with the other half of ourselves being the other person. We also, enjoy spending time together.
