The Suffragettes should not be confused with the entire Suffrage Movement. They were a distinct faction and one that did more harm, it can easily be argued, than good to the cause with their extremist militant methods. The Suffragists were mostly moderates who saw clearly that the tactics of the Suffragettes were actually alienating society against their cause. It was these moderates that did most of the heavy lifting, though ofc it was WW1 that truly changed things. It is also worth noting that the Suffragettes not only did not fight for universal suffrage (they ignored the 40% of men that also didn't have a vote) they were among the first to give out white feathers to shame men to go to the front line and die in the Great War. I mean, in the spirit of the title of this vid, was this misandry? (This is from a British perspective, ofc)

It is just that the United States is global hegemonic power and so the U.S gets more media coverage and press.
