Thanking the people of Karnataka for delivering an overwhelming mandate in the Congress’s favour, Kharge credited the party cadre for the victory. He also thanked the Gandhi family for their leadership and promised to deliver on all five promises made to Kannadigas in the party’s poll manifesto.

So what ? He is a rightful citizen of Republic India, who was born and brought up in Karnataka. He is a malayali but his malayalam proficiency is pretty below average, he has better grasp over Kannada language, which itself is sufficient to be able to work as a political being in Karnataka.

Karnataka anyway has pretty decent amount of malayalis already in the districts close to Kerala, like South Kanara and Coorg. Similarity the districts of Wayanad and Kasargod have good number of Kannada populations. That's normal for a multi ethnic country.
