There are a lot of good options, even if they limit themselves to a righty. Bouchard, Hamilton, Ekblad, Dobson, Tanev, Doughty, Brent Burns? People acting so dramatic about AP dropping out, he wasn't even a lock to make this team.

The 4 Nations Tournament is a glorified all-star tournament at best. In the grand scheme it is meaningless and the players know it. In addition 2 of the top 3 goal scorers in the NHL are not playing, which makes it questionable. The the NHL is not even showcasing its best players.

@ Look at Russia's past performance in best-on-best tournaments. You can't say that the best 4 teams in the world aren't competing at the 4 Nations. It's best-on-best for all intents and purposes. Also Russia very likely won't have a team in the 2026 Olympics.
