Like Dubois at the weekend, I think IMakarov is gonna surprise us all and lift that 505kg, most are saying he's got no chance after failing so many times now. He's still young, just turned 33, age is on his side. I have a feeling he's gonna get it

@@petershortland478he added block pulls to improve his lockout, because he's broken 505 off the floor so many times. He needs to get it past his knees. His block pulls are from his sticking point, to improve his strength there.

At least a 477kg jump, just to nick Rauno's 476 from a couple of years back. The second to last weight jump should be going up every time someone lifts it too. We have never seen a 490 DL in a strongman comp, they optimize the jumps for the 505 but deny the fans a good show.

Hicks 465kg didn't look convincing in training recently. If you look at Thor's training and Eddie's training leading up to 500/501kg, they were moving 465kg/ 470kg like a warm up. From what I've seen so far from top 3 Hicks, Makarov, Heinla I don't think any of them will beat the record sadly, but if they had 485 or 490 I'd say all 3 of them have a good chance at it. If they skip 470kg probably Hooper will win the deadlift round at 470kg. I don't think Raggs will get more than 455kg.

If Rauno and Hixxie are mentally and physically healthy, they both have a good chance. Will they pull 505? I hope so but it is a massive weight and the abuse on the body is extreme. If it goes, it will stand for a long time.

Very strange that they're choosing to plateau on 470 for the "mere mortals" in this comp. There's no chance for progress from last year, unless you get 505, which is out of the question for everyone, with just a couple of exceptions.

The quote, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" is often attributed to Albert Einstein, but there is no evidence that he ever said it. In fact, Einstein wasn't associated with the phrase until decades after his death, in the 1980s

At what point is this no longer a strongman record? Just a deadlift specialist record. Some of these guys have only trained deadlift for a long time and I guess wouldn't perform well in a whole show. I hope someone hits the 505, Graham most likely but I wouldn't count out rauno.

Additionally, I think a strongman deadlift record is characterized not only by their competing in strongman, but moreso the use of suit and straps
@murphy990
@murphy990 Ай бұрын
@@slingmaster9994 yeah I agree that it's a strongman style deadlift. But if you've not competed in 2 years, are you a strongman? @@Natefirethemagnets I completely agree with you, he is being pushed to lift heavier weights because his Dad is a business man and wants money. The larger the weight the larger the views. I hope Eddie realises this and helps Max correct his form while he's young so he doesn't destroy his back.

@@francoisstrengthMate, with all due respect Thor is a freak of nature. So was Eddie but having a dad with some of the best strength genetics on the planet doesn't necessarily mean you will have the same. Comparing them isn't a good idea, Max could easily get injured.

Nobody this weekend Big fan of hixxy, good lad, but I think he missed a trick I really hope he proves me wrong, but I think he is a few percent off. I reckon he could pull over 480 which is still absolutely insane The only problem with 480, it's too much then to expect 505. However, we are unlikely to see 505, so 480 plus would be insane I definitely agree about skipping 1000lb. Some may even benefit pulling a really fair 450 plus and skipping 470 Thor with prep can pull it.
