Just to clarify your confusion about the 9th song: There is a kind of casting show that starts this week where the 9th song for the final will come from. We've known the contestants for that for like a month, so idk why people online seem to be confused about it. Basically, there's 2 hosts (Rea Garvey and Conchita Wurst) who can pick people for their "teams" where they will develop songs in a songwriting camp setting. Then 2 of each team get picked for a final on February 9. That's a live show where those 4 songs will be performed and televote decides who gets to be the 9th song for the national final.

Some informations about german singer: Max Mutzke is a famous singer in Germany. He started for germany at esc 2004 with Cant wait until tonight and finished at 8th Place.. He has a lot of fans in germany. Ryk was at the national final 2018, he becomes third. Marie Reim is the daughter of michelle, Michelle beomes 8th at the esc 2001. My Favourites are Leona, Max Mutzke and Ryk. Then Lotl becomes last, was an absolute scandal. Shame on you europe.

I'm personally really underwhelmed by NDR's Choices. One would have thought that they learned from the extremely well received "Unser Lied für Liverpool" (for German Pre-Selection-Standards, that is) and built off of that instead of going one Step foward (kicking out the TikTok Wildcard) and three Steps back (Genre Diversity, Presentation of the Acts, questionable Artist Choices). And I, again, can only state that one deciding Factor for all of these Problems is that we have a National Final with 9 Songs (one of the smaller Ones) when we have the 4th biggest Music Market in the whole World and are the most populous Country taking Part in the Contest. Even extremely small Countries like Iceland and Estland have at least 3 Episodes of the National Final. Having more Entries compete could make NDR more willing to take in some unconventional Choices as well. Personally, I think the only Songs that have a realistic Chance of not getting "Germany, I'm sorry, zero Points"-ed are "Oh Boy!" and "Katze". Oh Boy! could have a great Staging and Ryk's Vocals also speak for themselves, this could make a Jury Favourite, while "Katze" would appeal to the People that liked Entries such as "In Copore Sano". The Question is through wether or not we'll have a lot of "out-there" Entries this Year, following Käärija's Success. We saw what happened last Year: A huge Amount of People liked Songs such as "Carpe Diem", "Blood and Glitter", "Promise" etc., but because we had so many Rock Songs and one of those also being an Audience-Favourite all of these Songs had Trouble getting any Points at all.

As a german: i've expected way worse of our NF but it's still a boring one. Max is actually a famous singer and he competed once in eurovision but nobody like this song xd marie reim usually sings schlager which is a horrible genre, her song here is schlager-pop which is definetly better xd my fav is bodine and then marie ^^ i hate katze a lot (if you understand the lyrics this song is so cringe to listen to), also ninetynine and max are boring...i love leona's voice but the song is sadly too boring :( ryk has potential but his song is too boring for me too...isaak is between good and too boring for me :D i think marie has a good chance winning the NF bc germans want something in german and she kinda has a name and a fanbase in the schlager-community, her parents are also both well known schlager artists so i think she has high chances gaining votes. People like Ryk here too, max will have a good amount of votes too just because he is famous. I sadly have the feeling that bodine will be super underrated :(

As a German I have to say I don't like one of the songs. (Like every year since 2013, beside Fahrenhaidt in 2014) We need a new selection method, but like in every other situation Germany is too late.🤷🏼‍♂ But NDR, the German Broadcaster, wants a song that you can listen to in the radio. Totally wrong, which song out of the ESC did you hear in the radio? Right - none! We are tired. We will get 0 points like in every year and it's totally deserved. Will that change anything? - No! We move on and on in downward spiral. But who cares.🤷🏼‍♂

The Slavs distribute the points among themselves, as do the Scandinavians and Romanesque countries. When did Germany last win? and how often England, France, Ireland Austria? You probably see me as an old nostalgic. But there was also a time when countries sang in their national language. Different timbres met each other. The whole thing merged into something special because you also heard interpretations that you didn't hear so often on the radio! Oh, something from the past! If a song, especially from Germany, ended up in 12th or 15th place, the artist also disappeared from the public eye for half a year, if at all! That's also the reason why no well-known artist appears there! Or have you ever heard Pur at the ESC!? No German you know does that! Or do you know Mikado? I don't mean the game. I mean the group.
