Most of us are searching for “the one,” hoping along the way we’ll find the person we’re supposed to marry. But if you don’t know what you’re looking for in a godly spouse, you won’t find it. In this message, we look at 1 Timothy to learn more about what qualities we should look for in someone.
__
If you could ask a fortune teller one question, what would you ask? Maybe it's "Will I be forever alone?" or "Will I ever be truly happy?" In this series, we look at how God's word answers the most pressing questions about our future.

I just started dating my first girlfriend ever: I am 21 she is 19. She has never had a bf or kissed anyone and I have never had a gf or kissed anyone... Thank you for this advice, I am continuing to pray about my relationship as we grow in Christ together, Thank you so much for this God

Word of advice. Same situation, but we're both 21 now and have been dating for 2 years. Have fun and learn about each other, but do not lose sight of your goal: marriage. It's an evaluation first and foremost. Do not be scared to talk about uncomfortable things. Seek out conflict and vanquish it together, dont ignore issues. I'm in that spot now bc I don't know if she has the same drive/fight for goals in life and for her pursuit of me as I do for her. You want someone that will always pick 1) God first, 2) you second. Everyone else and everything else comes after those two. I'm scared about the possibility she might not change and I must leave as to not have a potentially horrible marriage. Pray for me and good luck. Trust God

@@dapperdan1017 Hey. I don't know about your particular situation but I do know that most women don't make as much effort in pursuit in a relationship. Like personally I wouldn't even know what to buy my significant other for their birthday 😂🤷‍♀️it's not such a nice thing but that's how we're brought up. We're taught to be wives and caregivers and to cook and clean but nobody teaches us how to really treat a man's heart. I'd suggest you talk to her about it SERIOUSLY. Give her a little help or ways you'd like her to show pursuit Also, you could introduce a system where one weekend of every month you sit and analyze how your relationship has been going for that month. I think that would really help

21 is an infant...try being a man who is single and never dated at 41. And I am sick of hearing how little Susie didn't get enough love from daddy, so she dates Johnny Thug and ends up abused and divorced by 35.

Yes if someone wont respect you avoiding something that you feel will tempt or make you stumble, she is not for you. Kissing isnt wrong nor ungodly, same as hugs, hand holding, cuddling etc. What's wrong is if you become sexually excited (turned on) from that actions whether its holding hands or kissing, you should not do that as to not awaken love. I cheated. I wasn’t with Christ then. But now I am and was wondering if you could just talk about letting go of what you did B.C. Thank you 🙏🏾

Was your first kiss with your now spouse after or beginning you two were married? So tired of married people telling singles how wonderful singleness is. Try being an older single treated like a second class citizen by the married people in the church, & feeling like you’ve been forgotten by God.

I am absolutely against taking the Lords name in vain as a believer, but to say anyone who swears because they got something slammed in the car of a door, et, that theyre "unclean/poisonous/negative" etc is rediculous, legalistic, and majoring on minors. Theyre just words, and what deems them appropriate or not depends on context, how often theyre used, where and how.

Many churches are directly responsible for the large number of older single adults in longterm unwanted singleness! Happily married pastors ignore the real needs of singles and tell them to be content in Christ Jesus and they don't even need a spouse. While technically correct the way the needs of singles are wholesale ignored and their feelings disregarded I have no time for these videos telling me the same dismissive information.
@DD-pv2jl
@DD-pv2jl 10 ай бұрын
So true. Singles are treated like second class citizens by the church. Married people in the church (including those in leadership roles) are more than happy to give singles (especially older singles) bad advice because it is no skin off their backs. If these married people telling singles how wonderful singleness is, I’d like to see these marrieds take a vow of celibacy until every single they know has a spouse.
@hamilton9651
@hamilton9651 10 ай бұрын
@@DD-pv2jl That will never happen. I'm sick of hearing use your time of singleness to improve yourself and get closer to Jesus. Are you seriously telling me that every married couple did that? Especially the ones married right out of college?
@lydjoy3385
@lydjoy3385 8 ай бұрын
@@hamilton9651 no they didn’t use their time wisely, which is why half of marriages in the US end in divorce. and the remaining half that is still married isn’t perfect. some of those couples shouldn’t have been together in the first place if we’re being honest. and christians aren’t an exception either. lots of dysfunctional people who should have gotten closer to god while they were single, and gotten some healing. i believe (and i know, because i’m single myself right now) that if more christian’s ACTUALLY worked on their relationship with god, god discipline, and therapy, they wouldn’t be jumping into marriages or relationships every five seconds. they have made marriage an idol and that is reflected in the divorce rates, the infidelity running rampant in their marriages , and their children being out of wack with god.

This is poorly titled. It is instead a message about what ro look for.ih its got jokes and laughs But its zero help for the faithful Christian single who hasn't been asked out or met anyone. Is there even someone for the single desiiring marriage at all? Without prospects? And his fake apology to singles? Fake because nothing will change. There are a thousand messages on KZbin exactly the same as this one. So what? Despite the words blah blah, the church will still treat singles as second class. How about you srep out and actually help?
