Good stuff boys. I'm so glad UTSA, Rice, SMU, and UNT are still in the same conference. I wish they'd add UTEP, Sam Houston, and Texas State to keep these in-state rivals.

UTSA will go 8-4 or 7-5 and UNT and UAB will do the same. FAU could go 8-4 or as good as 10-2 depending upon what they have and do with that roster and the offense and defense schemes that Tom Herman implements.

Memphis is DEEP. if Seth is healthy with that schedule how it fairs for their home vs road Memphis can be a real problem. Tulane lost 3 defenders that where beast and on offense spears being gone is vital to what Willie fritz team did last year. SMU is solid. UTSA and coach Trailor is solid. FAU will contend soon. ECU continued last year to show improvement. But this is no 1 horse race at all. UAB is solid. But Memphis has the most continuity than anyone in the league. The got bigger and faster. Improved both lines, DB and kicker and place holder. Memphis special teams costed them 3 games last year. Houston, SMU, And ECU

Okay I am a Navy veteran and Houston alum and UT Southwest. Not bragging but laying down the groundwork for my stance on this upcoming AAC season and do hope they regain power status one day and get to add schools that make more sense and improve football and other athletics than Rice, Charlotte, and maybe UAB. So my thoughts on this upcoming season are based on last year’s performance and expectations and the coaching changes and upgrades in competition for the 6 incoming schools to AAC. My prediction for order of finish with at least 10 of the schools if not 12 of them getting bowl eligibility. Number one is both regular season conference champ and conference championship game winner. 1. Tulane 2. Memphis 3. SMU 4. FAU 5. UTSA 6. East Carolina 7. Navy 8. UAB 9. Tulsa 10. UNT 11. Temple 12. Rice 13. Charlotte 14. USF I realize some people will get upset with my predictions and expectations for the conference this year. But barring any changes in rosters and other factors, this is probably how it will finish. None of the new teams will be in contention towards the end of the season and could see UTSA and UAB and UNT finish further behind other schools in the conference because giving their coaches the benefit of the doubt and not their players and locations. Of the new schools only FAU could possibly play their way into the conference championship game against Tulane or Memphis before getting throttled as not quite there yet. Tom Herman at FAU is most likely to get that school into conference contention before the other five new schools. UAB made the right choice in head coach. But five of the six schools coming in will need two to three years to get their foothold on recruiting and staff and schedules and play calling and execution before becoming a conference contender. Tom has vast experience in AAC, and FAU probably made the best hire out of any G5 or P5 school.

That was well thought out, such a significant amount of turnover has happened with many of the programs from coaches, staffs and rosters I think it is such a toss up I agree with your top 2 after that who knows it will be fun to watch, I think the top 5 will be bowl eligible, I hope they are. I also think overall in two or three years more will be known with all these conference realignments AAC should be in position to be a power 5 conference if that even matters by then.

Tulane will dominate the conference again. UTSA won’t be as good and will lose 3-4 games. SMU should be much improved from last year and will likely be near the top. UNT is like a 6 or 7 win team at best

@@robertruiz8045they will lose to Houston and at least 3-4 other teams throughout the season. The only new school capable of winning enough to qualify for conference championship game is FAU and is more to do with who their head coach is than personnel on the field. It’s still a Tulane and Memphis league followed by SMU and East Carolina having best chances to be conference champions in the first two to three years of the new AAC alignment. But I don’t think any of the new schools do better than 8-4 in their first year in AAC.

@@meangreenshow6967 I think they might go 6-6. I think they will be about as good as North Texas and UAB. It's a strange team. A lot of highly recruited talent that has not really played that much. So they are not projecting all that well but could be pretty good. Very outside chance they could be as good as Tulane.

No, UTSA will be a 8 to 7 win team in first year and possibly second year. Years 3 & 4 is when and if Traylor is still coaching them, will make the move to conference championship contention. This also applies to UAB and maybe and maybe UNT, Tulsa, and Navy. I realize I included two schools that have been in the conference for 10 years. The coaching changes and rules changed and other things factor in the current schools being in same situation for success as 4 of the 6 schools coming in the conference. The way the schedules are structured the schools currently at bottom as of now: Navy, Rice, Temple, Charlotte, and USF will improve their performance and records and at least two of those schools will go bowling this year and next year with one added on possibly.

While I dont think my Navy team is a threat to win the conference i do think you will see a much improved team. It was sad to see coach Ken go but it was time. With the new offensive coordinator adding a lot of rpo packages and shotgun to go along with the triple option you will see a more modernized version of option football. I think they win 7 or 8 this year.

@@meangreenshow6967 the NCAA changing the cut block rules really hurt the academies. Even Army is going to a shotgun option approach. Air Force wasn't hindered as bad as they made changes years ago. I think what Navy is doing will not only revitalize their offense and bring them back to winning records and bowls after a few off years it will open up offensive possibility to other teams as well. Looking forward to the season for sure and I think this could be the best AAC yet.
