We need someone with a proven record of winning major trophies - regardless of nationality. Tuchel is the man, surely? Ten major trophy wins under his belt. No current ties to any club (therefore no compensation to pay out) and can start immediately. He commands his technical area and gets the best out of his players. As a Newcastle supporter, I want to see Lee Carsley get the job. England don't require a big name, Capello and Erikkson prove that with their records. Lee Carsley likes attacking football, the majority of the England squad are used to this and won the euro U21s tournament with some of the current senior players. Spain's current manager was their former U21s manager, so theres no harm in trying to implement the man that is already steeped in the England project.

Doesn’t matter what Newcastle think. If England want him and the fans “do” want him. Sorry the majority of England fans want him. England have to pay for him. How much does a World Cup cost? I knew when he was at Bournemouth,and I live in Poole. But Bournemouth was my team. I knew then that he was a fantastic Manager. When he left? What on earth happened? The greatest Manager in the history of Bournemouth indeed in the history of Southern clubs. And they let him go? Madness. If England want him, the fans want him. But we keep reading that Newcastle won’t let him go. We are talking about the England team manager. Eddie seems as though he wants the job. Then the rest is irrelevant. England!! Pay the compensation that Newcastle will want.Doesn’t matter how much it costs. This Man is the only real hope for England winning the World Cup. Forget the cost ! Just get Eddie Howe. It may cost the FA millions! So what? As I said how much does a World Cup cost. Millions? So what. Eddie Howe all the way.Anyone else will be an also ran! Not loved,not wanted. Any one else will be under the Microscope. Eddie is Eddie and I don’t think that the media will have him under a microscope. Why because they know he is the best for the England job. @@hyywe240 lol the casuals wanted him to stay, all they do is support national team at tournaments and see them do well and are like Southgate is best England manager for decades... he was, he has changed the attitude in the squad and actually won knockout matches which England have barely done and he beat teams we should beat but he also had easy draws, can't get the best out of the new attacking players that have come through and lost 2 finals (been dominated in both despite being favourites for the first one), a WC semi (also favourites and played off the park) and a quarter final (the one where we actually played quite well and were unlucky to lose but still didn't really create much). Southgate is a legend, honestly made tournaments enjoyable again (besides this one) so thanks for the memories but he's tried and failed to win 4 tournaments, time for someone else and an attack minded coach who can get the best out of the best part of the team. This tournament proved he didn't have the depth and tactical know how to get the best of his players. Shoehorning in players took us back to Sven days.

I think we need a Manager who can teach our team possession football. How to pass and move. We have good players they need fine tuning. How many games did you see incredible passes from midfield. We were playing long balls out the box from Pickford. Football is a team game where sometimes you move to create space.for your teammates. I'm not sure all the candidates for the job can give us what we need. I hope I'm wrong. The best I've ever seen England play in my lifetime was 1996 Vs Holland/Netherlands. We outplayed an amazing team with great possession fantastic passing and limited a brilliant Dutch team for most of the game. We need a midfield who play like the Spanish, Strikers who play like 1970s Brazil and Defenders like Italian players and a goalkeeper like Gordon Banks. Anyone got a Dolerean? Time to get the flux capacitor ready? I'll put the Stella's, Budweisers and whatever else in the fridge. Today we are going back to the football.....

There is almost no reason why a manager couldn’t be an international manager and club manager at the same time.

If English, has to be: Eddie Howe, Potter, O'Neill, Carrick or Carsley. If non-English: Klopp (though doubtful he would ever take, as he wants to relax, so no idea why his name is being constantly thrown into the mix). No way Lampard, Rooney or Gerrard. They have poor man-management and inter-personal skills. No way: the Argentian Pochettino. He comes across as a bit of an opportunist. Plus, an Argentian manager would be a kick in the teeth. Since 1986 they've been the masters of the dark arts against us.

England fans be realistic. Ancelotti is not leaving excellence for England. Ponch is your best best. Otherwise, promote an England youth manager who isn't afraid to pass on Kane and knows attack tactics.

I think Klopp style is intensive he's in constant touch with his squad and I don't see that translating to international football regardless of the team because he wouldn't have that ability to stamp his style into the players because Klopp style is all about mentality and you can't do that part time I don't see how it works .

In all seriousness, we've all seen how England fans have treated Southgate(their most successful manager since Ramsey). Why would a top Manager be interested in taking that on, risking worse abuse than Southgate got(purely because they're not English), when they don't win their first tournament? The English are the epitome of entitlement. They're not a top tier team in international football. That has to be realised.
@wowcbi
@wowcbi Ай бұрын
@scottw.3258 I beg to differ, fans for generations have seen talent on par with big nations, with no result I don't think is entitlement, it's expectation we have good players. big teams with good players are expectant every season, and sure, many wonder why nations like Georgia, Turkey, and others have a tactical identity, but we don't. They accept a lower finish in the tournament as success With Bellingham, kane, and foden performances last season, we have a right to be expectant, and not accept switzerland is better than us, or accept what it was before Southgate knockout stages and home Why can't we want and expect a challenge, especially considering Southgate tournament record I personally think Southgate deserves a lot of praise And a high amount of criticism for kalvin Phillips comment, no natural left back, recent comments on kanes fitness the trent experiment and we didn't look like we had an idea of how we were meant to play during the tournament through lack of practice or what ever the blame stop at Southgate on that If maguire was fit, he went, so should Sterling rashford or grealish be all left behind, gives us a left winger not sure pegs in round holes I am not arguing those guys performed enough to be picked but they all would have stretched team more than foden and Bellingham Not picking the best team, picking best players, cost us more than his tactics

@scottw.3258 Ай бұрын
@@wowcbi By all means, beg to differ. However facts are facts. England are not a top tier team, and their lack of trophies shows that. England flatter to deceive year on year at major tournaments. They've been the same since i can remember(1982 World Cup). They tend to get out of their group, and then squeeze through a couple of knockout rounds, then they meet a better team, and lose. That's their pattern. Even just concentrating on the last 2 Euros, the first quality side they've met was in the final on both occasions. Italy were by far the best team in 2020, right throughout the tournament, and deserved to win it. Same this year. Spain were head and shoulders above any team in the tournament, and deserved to win. England need to hope that the bigger, better teams knock eachother out, before one of them loses to a 2nd tier team, while England struggle through in the easy half of the draw again. That's the only way, England will ever win a tournament. That's no slight on England, by the way, it's how it is for a fair number of teams who are all that tier below the elite. Part of Englands problem is this expectation. No other nation expects to win tournaments. They hope to win them, they believe they can win them, but they don't expect to win them. Germany, Italy, France, Spain, not one of these nations expects, and they all have multiple trophies, both World Cup and Euro. There's nothing wrong with hope, or belief, but for a nation who has only ever won 1 trophy, 60 years ago, on home soil, with help from officials throughout the tournament, to expect to win something every two years, when the majority of the time they've never got close, is blind arrogance.

Needs to be English. Eddie Howe or Brian Potter. Its an easy job. Pick players in form playing in the positions they play for their clubs and set a style of play from the beginning.. pace on the wings and up front. Win the Nations League first.
