Trevor Bauer has paid a far higher price than he should have. He could help any team in the league, but who will give him that chance?

Bauer was in the crosshairs from the moment he called out the league about sticky substances for spin rate. But whatever team signs him is going to be targeted by all these women's group and victims advocacy group, which means loads of potential sponsorships and all kinds of ad revenue is immediately gone. Bauer is not in MLB because of his issues with the commissioner and MLB itself. He has openly expressed his negative opinions on the league. If he truly wanted to be back in MLB he would meet with the commissioner and actually play for the min. Not this incentive idea he has. Look at how Rich Hill got himself to be a regular starter again. Actually play for the league minimum. Again, he isnt playing cause of the SA case. ITs more that he is out of baseball and MLB wants to keep it that way.

Title: The Unjust Consequences of Media Influence on Innocence In the realm of professional sports, the intertwining of media, public perception, and the fate of athletes has become an intricate dance that can lead to the condemnation of the innocent. This scenario is vividly portrayed in the plight of a prominent baseball player, wrongfully accused of illicit actions. Even after his innocence has been established, the shadows cast by media sensationalism, societal misjudgment, and the fear of negative publicity linger, preventing his return to the field. One of the key contributors to this issue is the media's insatiable appetite for captivating narratives. In the pursuit of higher viewership and engagement, media outlets often prioritize sensationalism over accuracy. The baseball player's story, embellished for drama, becomes a potent tool for generating interest. In this quest for attention, the media may inadvertently perpetuate misinformation, leaving the public with a distorted version of the truth. Moreover, the prevalence of social media amplifies the issue. Those who may not even follow the sport are quick to form opinions based on sensational headlines and truncated narratives. The nuance of the situation is lost as the story is reduced to click-worthy soundbites, leading to a vocal but uninformed online community eager to pass judgment. This digital court of public opinion, fueled by knee-jerk reactions, can exert significant influence on an athlete's career and personal life. The reluctance of baseball teams to sign the player, fearing backlash from the media and a potentially misinformed public, exacerbates the problem. This apprehension sets a dangerous precedent, signaling that teams are willing to sacrifice justice for the sake of avoiding negative publicity. The consequence is a chilling effect on the willingness of organizations to support innocent athletes wrongly accused, perpetuating a cycle of unwarranted punishment. In this scenario, the overlooked victims are not just the wrongly accused athletes but also the integrity of the sport itself. By succumbing to the fear of public backlash, teams inadvertently become complicit in perpetuating false narratives and sacrificing justice. The message conveyed is that innocence is not enough to shield athletes from the relentless sway of media-driven public opinion. To address this issue, it is imperative for media outlets to prioritize accuracy over sensationalism, presenting a balanced and nuanced account of events. Additionally, sports organizations must take a stand against baseless public condemnation, standing firmly in support of their athletes when innocence is proven. In conclusion, the case of the unjustly accused baseball player highlights the precarious intersection of media, public perception, and sports. As society navigates these complex dynamics, it is crucial to reevaluate the impact of misinformation, the role of social media, and the responsibility of sports organizations in safeguarding justice and the careers of innocent athletes. Failure to do so perpetuates a system where the innocent are unjustly punished, and the true essence of sportsmanship is overshadowed by sensationalism.

He just carries too much baggage with him. I'm not even talking about the reason he was suspended, I'm just talking about his personality being very abrasive, he's a drama queen who wants all of the attention with none of the consequences. I mean this is the same guy who tweeted multiple times about the same college athlete who didn't like him as if he took it personally. This is not also to say it wouldn't be a risk to sign him because he is getting older and having watched his YT channel and his media company videos, his most consistent batter he works with is Eric Sim who in all accounts is a cage hitter who hasn't played above Advanced A ball and that was over a decade ago. While the decision to suspend him seemed to be out of retaliation for him calling the league out for a number of things and Trevor could be seen as another Jose Canseco in that regard, MLB is a business and teams have to make the best decisions for their clubs and I 100% agree that he is not worth the risk due to his age and his baggage.

Honestly, at this point it should be obvious that no one will. Bauer has too much baggage. First of all, he hasn't exonerated himself of the other accusations. Too much smoke there for most front offices to wanna deal with the potential PR nightmare of dealing with that, on top of him already being a PR nightmare. And by that, i mean that he has proven again and again that he can't keep his mouth shut, and is going to go with the most antagonistic route possible no matter what it is. (An example being Bauer showing support for us Navy Lt. Ridge Alkonis, who killed two people in a car accident while stationed in Japan. Why would he comment on that at all, when there was zero benefit and only downsides to him saying anything about it?) Note that while his former teammates publicly may not trash him, privately, and off the record, it's a very different story. There is also the fact that his two best seasons were aided by foreign substances, and he's five years removed from those seasons. He's on the wrong side of the aging curve to boot. I've covered Trevor Bauer since when he was drafted by the D'Backs, and have followed him since. I think he's worth a shot at league minimum salary. The league doesn’t.

Not a sexual offender and didn’t admit to sexual assault, only thing he ‘admitted’ is that they had sex

Folks love to talk about Lindsey Hill and they conveniently leave out the other five victims. He’s done in the MLB, rightfully so. Dodgers paid him 22 million last year for nothing. He’s lucky.

From what I’ve read there are 3 other victims. People focus on Ms. Hill because she provided the most ‘evidence’. Until I see any sort of proof from the other 3, I’m going to assume innocence but be cautious, to do otherwise is fundamentally un-american.

@@RobElderton It’s fundamentally un American to abuse women and tolerate people who do. There are videos with concrete evidence.

If these videos were available they would be played ad nauseam, on every sports show on ESPN, CNN, Fox News etc. like they did with the Ray Rice elevator punch. If you have a link please post it.

@@RobElderton You have no idea how MLB investigations work do you? It’s internal to baseball. He knows what they have because he was a part of the investigation. They are both bound by confidentiality clause which he can’t talk about. He can sue MLB though. Of course this would mean the facts and all material evidence would be available to the media and authorities. Keep in mind the MLB investigation has nothing to do with court proceedings or law enforcement.

@@RobElderton You also have to be pretty sick to want to see these videos. Doesn’t belong in the public just like he doesn’t belong in the MLB.
