Who Will Split the Mt. of Olives - Rabbi

Hear Rabbi ‪@ToviaSinger1‬'s response to a question from the audience about the one who will split the Mt of Olives in Zechariah 14. "A day of the Lord is coming, Jerusalem, when your possessions will be plundered and divided up within your very walls.2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. 3 Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle. 4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. 5 You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him".

Rabbi Singer your work is sacred. The fact you are always relying on the hebrew bible most of the time bringing the references to what you say is just amazing, and it makes your teachings very significant and consistent, for many Rabbis use the talmud more than the bible when talking about these difficult subjects, while you can prove your point using the hebrew bible. Unfortunately the Rabbi is right about us Christians not understanding the tanach to help my fellow Christians please understand the primary foundational books are Genesis, exodus,numbers,Joshua, Judges,1stSamuel, 2nd Samuel,1stKings,2nd Kings,Ezra,and Nehemia.Under Samuel there is a united monarchy.Book of kings is a divided monarchy.After the death of Solomon the kingdom is divided.Israel is the north and Judah is the south.Prophets to the northern kingdom are Amos and Hosea. Prophets to the southern kingdom are Joel,Isaiah, Micha, Zephanai,Habakkuk,and Jeremiah. The 3 books to the Gentiles are Jonah Nahum,and Obadiah.Prophets during the Babylonian exile are Daniel and Ezekiel.Prophets who ministered in post exilic period are Haggai who encourages the people to build.Zechariah who speaks of the messianic age and Malachi which is written in a question and answer format to rebuke sin.Also in the post exile Ezra and Nehemiah return to rebuild the temple.Ezra was the spiritual leader and Nehemiah was the political leader and as I understand this is when Ezra reads the complete Torah to the people.This is the understanding of a gentile as I learned during my life. My sincere hope is that this will help my fellow gentile get a basic foundation of the tenach.

This prophecy is telling us that when the Moshiach is known to everyone or STANDING ON THE MT. OLIVE there will be a great divide between those that BELIEVE and those that don't. This will create a valley or divide between the two sides . The "mountains" or two different sides, those who believe and those who do Not. One will move North and one will move south. This means one side will accept and listen to the Moshiach and one will reject Him. South and North represent the Tribe of Judah and the Tribe of Israel or you could say the God fearing side of Judah who always held close to YAHWEH and the tribe of Israel who often turned from YAHWEH!!!

This is allegory. It happened in Circa AD 70. early in the piece the nations of Syria, the city of Alexandria as well as Egypt, then Rome itself began killing and enslaving the people in Israel. The rest fled within the walls of Jerusalem and those left outside were mostly killed. The remnant of those in the Jerusalem Church ~who had joined the new covenant in the Messiah Jesus~ believed His words in Mathew ch 24 and they fled to Pella through that gateway provided. In that way the possession was plundered and divided up between the walls. Jerusalem and the temple were not spared. Half the city was killed and raped by the roman soldiers and women ate their own babies and sectarian violence killed many more. The rest were sent into slavery and exiled as 'single' slaves without family or genealogy. Thus fulfilling the prophecy. Of course it's allegorical. Don't be stupid. After that. God made war on those nations and judged them with earthquakes and war. Especially Rome which was completely sacked by the mongols and destroyed. The last part hasn't happened yet but it will. Jesus is coming again for his own to receive them up to heaven with His holy ones.

Tovia, I am trying to teach you about how to understand the end times and those verses in the Tanach with my comments - but you never respond. Don't you know that Moses was the first to confirm the Mt. Sinai covenant for 7 years is in the Tanach, in Deuteronomy 31:9-13? And Moses made it a law that all future generations, the leadership would do likewise on a 7 year cycle. It's in the text, Tovia. And it will be the prince who shall come, in the end times, who Jews will think is the messiah you are unwittingly preaching about, does the same thing, playing the part? The person will himself be convinced that he is the messiah. It is in Daniel 9:27, he confirms the covenant with many for 7 years. It will be a big speech, he makes from the temple mount to the nation of Israel, following Gog/Magog, that the land of Israel belongs to the children of Israel as theirs forever - the same sort of speech Moses gave to the children of Israel as they were about to cross the Jordan to possess the promised land. Don't you know that Revelation, the end times chapters - 9-16 - are structured on that same 7 years in Daniel 9:27 and the 7 years following the destruction Gog's army in Ezekiel 39? Tovia, look in Revelation 6, the rider on the white horse that is given a crown. That person is the forthcoming Judaism's perceived messiah, and the crown is that he is anointed the King of Israel, by the false prophet.... to start the 7 years. Then 3 years 3 months later, he goes rogue, thinking he has achieved God-hood. And does the unthinkable in 2Thessalonians2:3-4. Transgressing the covenant betraying the Jewish people and the land God gave to the children of Israel.
