He said that he just asked a question, but then when they gave the answer Luka is better with the ball in his hands than Tatum, his immediate response was “so then how is Tatum on Luka’s level”. So marz was right to call him out for asking a question to confirm his bias. He also acknowledged that there’s more to offense than having the ball. But yet who’s better still comes down to who you trust to have the ball in their hands more. It was a stupid question that he tried to play off as innocent which was really to just confirm what he wanted to hear. So if I asked who you would want guarding the opposing team best player on the final possession and EVERYONE would say Tatum. And then i was like “ so then how can Luka be on tatum’s level if he can’t get you a stop when you need it” like it’s a dumb and leading question because your asking already knowing the answer

And, I guess to add my pov, i think that you can make the case that in that same question "Who would you want with the ball in their hand" and make it for the whole league, that answer could Luka as well. For the reverse, "Who would you want defending on ball" Tatum would not be the majority answer. That's where I think theres a level gap between Luka and Tatum. Tatum is a very good offensive and defensive player, but Luka is an All-Time offensive player and a mid defender at best. When one of the two players are playing at an All-Time level, i personally think it cancels out his lack of defensive. Just like Jokic. I think that's where his point gets lost cause it was Tatum v Luka debate, but Luka is just on a different level compared to the entire league not just Tatum.
