Before I met my husband I had no idea there was such a big difference in trimmers. I would get one from a box store, use it for a year or two and have to buy a new one. My husband and his crew use trimmers more in a week than I did in a whole year! His go-to is the Stihl, FS94's and FS91's with speed heads, and I have been amazed how well they hold up for what they are put through. He likes them for their dependability and performance, and I can now say from personal experience that they are easy to maintain and repair. They work almost as hard as my husband does! Good luck to everyone who enters!

The Stihl 4 mix engines sound so good, have great power, good durability. Only drawback is you have to adjust the valve clearances. Takes 5 minutes but it's easy to neglect and when other trimmers require essentially no maintenance, it makes the decision a bit easier. I'm running a 525ls but wouldn't be opposed to any good trimmer nowadays, they are all really nice machines.

I started out using the stihl fs91r and it was a good trimmer. Then I ran across an issue with the valves so I bought an fs 131r. Since I have fixed my 91r and made it a short range pole saw. A year after using these I was irritated with how heavy they both were so I looked into the Husqvarna 525 Lst. That thing is so freaking light and the 2 to 1 ratio is amazing. So another year went by and I found my self yet again in a situation where I got tired of lugging 2 trimmers everytime I cut since the fs131 overpowers the 525. So I stumbled across the echo 2620t. It's comfortable, I love the trigger, it's a great mix between the 131 and 525 and it's lighter than the 131 but has all the power I could ever need. So now I use the 2620t for all my brush cutting and tall grass needs and I swap back and forth between the 525 for around the house since it's so light and to keep it running. Alittle bonus I also switched from the fs91r short range pole saw to the Milwaukee battery pole saw and hedge trimmers and let me tell you guys.... go buy 1. They are amazing and work better than most of the gas 1s I have used and I can use it at night if I get off late and don't wanta disturb the neighborhood! Great videos keep them coming and let's see the new blower wars video. Echo 9010 for the win lol.

"we are engineers". I've used all of these. Each have thier pros and cons. The Husqvarna comes in a 525l 525ls 525lst. Definitely an upgrade when a aluminum plate is on the bottom. Anti-vibration device in the handle. Solid spline internal drive. Magnesium crank case. If you line them all up the Husky is by far the more ergonomic and smoother lines. Has the auto-return off in the handle. All the lines are completely inside. Lightweight. Two stage air filtration. The trigger is almost impossible to break. All the fuel lines are compltely inside. The choke is by far superior to the others it's either on or off. I started with a 128ld a year and a half ago. With multiple attachments. I've upgraded to the 525lst the 525ecs 525p4s 525he3. Powerful lightweight engine each of them have the anti-vibration handle. Great platform. My 128ld still comes along with us but rarely used. 2nd year owner and would love a new 525. The km-94r is awesome. Easy starting, light, powerful, reliable and you can run multiple attachments. I love mine. For strictly a trimmer the Fs -94r is pretty awesome. I broke in/ ran in the engine with being light to half power on the throttle for the first half year to let the engine settle in . After that I have put some serious use at full throttle on it. Been great for the five years I've had it. It's been flawless and a beast on anything green and growing except solid wood type growth. If I have to do some clearing I just grab the Stihl FS -250 with the brush blade and it levels all up to three inches in diameter. That trimmer/brushcutters is now twenty years old and Stihl ripping through whatever I put in front of it. If you get yourself one of the Fs -94r trimmers or the km-94r kombi machines you will absolutely not regret it. They don't make the fs-250r but they do make the fs-240 which is just a hair small in engine size but is quite a beast. I am only a fan of the traditional two cycle equipment and I am not at all a fan of the four mix engines. Too many moving parts and things to go wonky.

You will maintain the newer Stihl weed eaters a lot more. Anybody that tells you otherwise is lying to you. We have 7 of them at work. The older ones are good. The 2 131's and both 111's live in the shop. Lack of power, hard to start, new carbs, plugs, adjustments, and they still don't run that well. My boss gets tired of hearing it so he let me buy a 525L. It outrun's all of them. Starts better, runs smoother, it's just all around better. I literally use both all the time and Stihl helped sell me on my Husqvarna weed eaters a long time ago.

When they do, they run ok, then try to start them back later and they don't wanna start. The 290 is heavy and it vibrates terribly. The other Stihl saw, can't remember what it is, has the same issues. They changed a lot over the last few years and it shows for the worst

I have about 10 weekly clients but have been using this trimmer growing up on my parents property for 10 years or so and my dad used it for years before I took over. So happy to see this video. Looks like I am leaning toward Redmax because of its smaller more lightweight build kind of like my Maruyama that I've been using. The STIL is also a contender and I could totally end up with that some day but my first choice would be a Redmax.

I had nothing but problems from redmax trimmers. Their carbs are super duper picky about the gas mix, like real bad. I have multiple shindaiwa trimmers ranging from 10 years old to two, and I have never had a single issue out of any of them. Both redmax trimmers I've bought brand new, the biggest ones - 3060's, they both only worked properly for less than a full season. This is on the same exact gas mix that all my other equipment was using and working just fine on. I use 93 octane with stihl synthetic oil and I am very meticulous about getting the mix right. Most honest shop mechanics will tell you the redmax carbs are not the best. I've heard it from three different ones myself. Of course, everyone's use case and experience will vary, but I'd never give redmax another dime.

Thanks for the video guys. Good to get the hands on. Any chance you might be able to do something similar with the battery trimmers as well? They are getting better and better. So it's good to have quality reviews to showcase them.

Husky 223L from lowes, lasted 15 years and never failed to start and super light, balanced well. Only complaint is the guard doesn’t protect user very well.

My favorite trimer is my Stihl FS-91R OR KM-91R. Best trimmer ever!! I like that it has a lot of low end torque, and that you don't have to rev it so high to cut grass.

Definitely a red max for me. If trimmer wars 2.0 happens all guards off would make it more fair I feel like it limits the trimmers capabilities.

Stihl FS 111 has been the go to for as long as we’ve had them. Easy for us to maintain, great service from our dealer, and overall familiarity as we’ve been running Stihl for as long as I can remember. Would love to win a Stihl or any trimmer really to replace our battery powered black and decker one we got as a hand me down when we first moved into our own place!

I’ve got approximately 1800 hours on my Honda gx35 four stroke trimmer and that thing is absolutely reliable and powerful. Only con is the weight. My Husqvarna 128 just bit the dust after only 150 hours but I wanna try the 522L and see how it goes.

My go-to trimmer right now is a Makita MM4, tad heavy, but smooth and quiet 4-stroke with surprisingly good torque. I recently got a Makita LXT cordless that I use around the house. My all time was the same Echo, older model.. seemed like it could eat anything and do it all day, seemed to be easier on my lower back than anything else I've found, maybe it was a touch longer than the others. Fun video, glad I came across it.

My wife and I have been using the stihl at home and love it! We have also heard great things about the Red Max. Next year we are thinking about going out and starting our own lawn mower service. We live Texas! We are looking to start this business because we love the outdoors along with our kiddos (five beautiful babies) and found this would be a perfect job we could do as a family. We have been watching your videos for a while and they are Very helpful and actually has been helping us through this process. Thank you for doing what you do. Anyone would be blessed to win this.

The best one was not even in the line up! The Stihl FS 80 R is the best trimmer hands down. 15+ years and literally two days ago the pull chord broke and I had to replace the prime bubble a year ago. Still runs great and starts on second or third pull every time, still has the bell ringing sound from that old two stroke. Old school Stihl for the win!

Well here it comes.. I don't really comment much but love watching the educational and motivational video's you guys put out keep up the great work, and look forward to keep commenting in the future. know let's talk equipment we run all STIHL products we have a Fs91R, Fc91, Fs94R, and last but least the BR800 there all have been great to me, but the question really is what is my favorite trimmer got to say if were talking STIHL the fs94R really comfortable and fuel efficient on my weekly lawns but again all I've used is STIHL. But if were talking in the video it would have to go with the Echo 2620T seems to be comfortable and stable for long uses at a time. Hope everyone is doing well and having a great Tuesday.

I have ran a Husqvarna, Still and Echo. I always came back to the Echo. I've been running the small Echo 225 (on about 5 residential yards) for over 8 years now with zero issues ( just do general maintenance to it). Planning on upgrading if it ever quit but it will be another Echo.

My echo srm4605 U handle is almost 20 years old, still runs good as new. Only takes 4 pulls to start when cold and 1 when it's hot/warm. I'm looking to buy a STIHL trimmer since the dealer don't sell echo trimmers anymore just echo parts, but I see that they(STIHL) still use primer and I hate that. I love my echo trimmer it's so simple and the harness is so comfortable. Never had any issues with my echo. When it comes to trimmers I go for echo but chainsaws I go for STIHL.

Last year I bought an efco Ds 2210 s that's 21.7 cc straight shaft that weighs in at 9.0 lbs. Made in Italy This year I bought an efco ds 2210 t That has the handle bars and weighs in at 10.6 lbs. We mow cemeteries and that's alot of trimming so we like the handle bars and this efco is the lightest straight shaft with handle bars that I could find and it has proven to be a good product.

I used to be a Stihl guy... then I tried Echo.... but I'm set on Shindaiwa. I don't know how the newer ones are, since the Echo buyout... but the older ones are the best, most dependable, best performing trimmers I've ever used. I have one that's a 2006, been through two gear heads, never even had to tune the carb, much less repair it. My favorite thing is how they rev, and their carbs are more tolerant of modern gas. First time I ran one, I was afraid of blowing it up. They rev way higher than I'm used to.

Maruyama seems to be the least known and everyone is biased towards what they owned but look at that 5 year commercial warranty and the guy after round 3 talks about the "cruise control" this is a feature that sets it apart not to mention the stainless steel shaft that's used in it. I think if more people tried it it would be the winner. This trimmer in bl27 has lasted me 3 seasons and the handle is holding up great plenty of power to cut a 2 month over grown ditch and ragweed through the woods behind our home

At work I use an old Kawasaki motor that has a Shindaiwa shaft and trigger, both probably from the 80s or 90s. That thing is my baby. Otherwise I'm a huge fan of Echo trimmers and blowers, they just run and start like a charm with little to no maintenance. I'm curious to try RedMax and a factory Shindaiwa trimmer. No one makes tools like the Japanese and Germans.
