The husqvarna doesn’t have less heat, it has the same heat but it hides it from you with less venting. The echo has a lot of venting while true makes you hotter, but its better for longevity. Heat is the silent killer for any engine and the echo does well with venting that heat. I would rather my arm cook a little than have to replace my equipment every few years

Heat destroys all. Still using same 2014 husky 525lst. Nothing worse than imense heat radiating from the trimmer whilst workn in immense heat. It already in the 90s and high humidity here in Tennessee. But I moved on to the iLST. Now I have no heat

What you say is absolutly true about needing a powerful trimmer so you can go fast. I got a 525 to replace an fs55 and it made a huge difference.

I've tried them all and most are quite good, I was using the Husky 525 and the previous 326 and even earlier models for 8-10 hours a day, 6 days a week, steep hillsides, heavy brush and tall grass and never missed a beat, even in temps north of 95 degrees. I would just carry an extra spool or two with me, mix the gas at 45:1 and tune accordingly. Take care of lubing the head and air filters and you're good to go.

A big Husqvarna fan myself, and it will take something truly phenomenal to replace my 535LK pro combi's! They're the Nuts in my opinion.

I've got the 525LS and about to buy a 535LK. Not sure how much I'll use the combi system but I dont want the oversized shaft of the 535LS because it will make it hard to run speed feed 450 head and darwin grip

@@exterminator1 Stihl is my least favorite as well. Husqvarna feels like an xtenstion of my arms and hands. Echo trimmers make me feel like Im lugging a loaded suitcase around comparably but I like Echo better than Stihl.

Not sure about the 525 but I switched from 535LST's to the LS's because the final drive was too low for the rpm band of the LST. Your reviews mean something because you review the gear you own rather than selling your integrity to whoever sends free equipment. Cheers.

I was weedeating along a creek yesterday and slipped on a mossy rock, took my feet right out from under me, got banged up pretty bad and my husqvarna 525 got fully submerged in water.Thought it was a goner. Pulled the air filters off. Shook the water out of the motor. Ten minutes later back up running. 👍

I've had Stihl and Echo and every year they were hard to start. Bought a 525 and always starts! Had a Stihl blower every year didnt start. Bought a Husqvarna starts every year! Had many lawnmowers ( Toro, Yard Machine ) they would not start. Bough a Honda starts every year. One thing Ive learned about Huskys ....get the right oil mix ratio and they last for years! Never buying anything else.

@@mairam09 1 gallon of fuel to 2.6 oz of Power Care 2 cycle engine oil. On Husky 525 weedeater and Blower BT130. Sometimes a little more oil ..2.8 oz to keep the piston lubricated.

I see a lot of comments of which brand of trimmer starts better. However, i want to know is which brand of gas trimmer last longest in years of service, Echo or Husqvarna? I have bought other brands of gas trimmers, but they may last 1 to 3 years. Just tired of buying throw away trimmers.

Try the Fs 131 from Stihl. ...I've used all three brands and the Fs 131, after two years it still starts up on the first pull without being primed. Cold start. Plenty of power and the best all around.

Watch my old videos. I have had them all.sold them all but I have a 111 now. Not a fan of 4 stroke trimmers. A lot of up keep.the 94r and 70 is stihls only 2 stroke commercial trimmer now. Well the 250. Adjusting the valves on the 130,131,111,110,100,91 and 90 are east but annoying. The cards seem to mess up a lot too. Not to mention stihl uses a Plastic cam gear smh.it always wears out quick.

I agree with you on the exhaust on the Husqvarna 525LST. However if you are 6’2” and you have serious monkey arms 39+inches, then your elbow is going to hit that vent. It’s not burning hot, but it’s hit enough. Won’t effect most people. I love it regardless. Best trimmer I’ve ever had. Cuts work substantially . Starts immediate. Hot or cold.

525LS bought summer 2015. About 120 hours per year, no problems. Change plug, air filter, clean spark arrestor and use clean gas with good oil combo. Note: Make sure to keep the gear bevel greased. Great video. Subscribed.

Good info... as always. Love Husqvarna chainsaws too. Have ran the 346XP for many years with minimum maintenance needed. Do have a STIHL FS56 RS "Whaaaacker" I picked up, and it does a great job for what I've been using it for, but now I want the Husqvarna 525LST. 5 acres is/are a lot $4!7 to take care of year around.

However I love husky everything else I own is husky besides my stihl chainsaw, I don’t have a brand bias. Ill stick with echos I've had terrible luck with my 2 husqvarna 525Ls with hot starts they work great but hot starts is a big issue with them and now i can't even get parts for them cuz my dealer stopped selling husqvarna.

Never heard of hot start on any strato from redmax/husky. They have a gas tank vent. Hot starts are usually due to vapor lock.stihl is notorious due to there non vent fuel tank.echo is good but nothing starts as easy as strato engines.all my echo trimmers are cold natured and hard to start.the echo backpack is the best echo I have.it starts 2 pulls at most. Echo is my 2nd go to brand for sure.they need a smaller form amd less weight.a solid shaft would be great too.idk why they use a braided cable still.their gear box ratio is awesome too.course they extend the carb body to increase power which is smart.but kills the smal

@@exterminator1 In the winter months here in Miami well we barely have a winter here but when its in the low 70s and high 60s around January they start well but in the summer months forget it you have to pull and pull till it starts its a real pain in the ass it takes you like 5 minutes to get it going and both of them do the same thing a buddy of mine has 525Lst and has the same issue as mine they vapor lock in the summer months in 100 digree weather for some reason i still use them but there not our main trimmers cuz of this issue which sucks cuz when they run there great trimmers.

Returned 2 Echo trimmers to HD after about 3-5 uses. Would flood and just wouldn't start! Never again will I buy an Echo and my new Husky is in my garage ready for use. I pray I get better performance than Echo.

Get the Husqvarna 525. You will not regret it at all. It is a beast. Fast starting, Lots of power, light weight, well balanced comfortable and not loud. I have the 525L and I love it. Professional series and it has proven it through years of heavy and hard use. Believe me it's not just a sticker that says professional series. It takes care of many yards, clears thick heavy grass no problem and mows occasional slick hills that would be risky and or dangerous on a mower. I don't regret a penny into the purchase of the 525L. If it can run with the stihls and survive the crew it will handle anything you can put it through and survive through generations to come.

There is a screw that holds it on.so I had to tighten it up. How does that go unoticed from husqvarna? Other than that I have had no breaks or anything. Great head besides cap comes loose

@@exterminator1 So, I am in touch with Husqvarna about that problem and what I can promise is that they are very very determined to solve the problem and are working on it now. I currently am using a prototype version of the Rapid Replace head that they sent me for testing. Just can’t talk a lot about the prototype head at this time. It looks the exact same but there are differences.

I have been using a Husq 535 LS for 4+ years and a lot of heavy tall weeds. The other day 5/4/23 the shaft failed. It’s cylindrical but the ends are square. Probably fatigued. For same amounts of material cylinders hand more torque than tubes. Not sure why Husq engineering didn’t think that through. Shaft is $76 in California and Husq Reno warehouse is out of them until 5/25/23. Seems COVID plandemic still impacting supply chain. So do I buy another 535 in the meantime or get the cheaper Echo SRM 3020T? 2.15 v 1.85 hp.

Totally forgot to mention…you should check out the Amsoil Saber 2-stroke oil. You could run leaner mixes safely up to 100:1 with it. I love Amsoil products, they’ve never let me down, and always outperform most any other oil products I’ve tried (except Redline oil, which I like for some very specific applications).

@@eugenecrabs3954 Yeah that's what I suspected...I would never go over 50:1 with any of those oils. However if you haven't tried the Amsoil Saber oil, you don't know what you're missing. Even at the regular 40:1 - 50:1 mixes, my engines run smoother, cleaner, and best part is no stinky or smokey exhaust. That's the only oil I would safely recommend running in leaner ratios...You don't have to, but you could.

Echo is just not balanced. They are too heavy at the motor. A few days ago I was with Stets and from Stets Lawn care and we was comparing an echo trimmer to a red max trimmer. You should set the echo on the ground and said the Husqvarna on the ground and start from the motor and work your way down and just lift with one finger. The Echo trimmer will quickly tilt toward the motor side but other trimmers will stay balanced as you move your lifting finger down the shaft. Even if the echo trimmer was a little bit lighter , it wouldn’t matter because it’s so imbalanced. The trimmer is not balanced and on top of that the motor area is just so big and bulky and ridiculous. They are just not comfortable

Like I said on another of your vids, husky trigger on echo would be the chicken's grease! I've got a shindaiwa t235 that's sooo easy to start. Less power than a 225 tho. Never use it

I'm curious as to the angle of the shaft/trimmer head. husqvarna advertises a 30 degree angle. How does that differ from the echo? as a taller guy, would that make me bend/lean over more with the husqvarna or no?

I have both of them. The husqvarna is lighter and it is a great string trimmer. The echo is a good one as well. The husqvarna 525lst is just got it going on.

Off topic but you are a Husqvarna guru!Does the driveshaft on the 525l have have identical ends on both sides? The head stopped spinning on mine. I switch the driveshaft around and it works now.

The reason I hate rubber over molds on gas powered tools (and some air and power tools) - is that once you get any petroleum product (oil or gasoline) on the rubber it starts to break down and rot. First it goes sticky like his Echo has, eventually pieces will start flaking/falling off.

i have all 3 main 525's the L the LS and LST the L is a real good machine the power is comparable to the 94R im goin on 2 years on my L and havent had a bit of trouble out of it i have 2 of the LST and goin on my 3rd year on the first one had to replace a gear head on that one because i was a dumbass and over tightened it when it became loose cuttin brush otherwise ive had no problems with that one either

Nice video Sir. I have a couple Husqvarna 128 LD units that I use as a powerhead. When they work the performance is solid but they have some carb issues . Any recommendations to remedy that issue?

Mine has never had a problem.always use 2 stroke oil with fuel stabilizers and never store over winter without running it dry.

My honest review is I'm a stihl man because the fs90r is 4mix with more torque when I'm weed eating in tall grass the swath doesn't curl up with the trimmer when I'm weed eating with srm2620 in tall grass the swath tends to curl up sometimes when you hit a heavy patch of grass .. now I havent used a husqvarna trimmer yet I plan on buying a 525l from lowes if I dont like it I'll sell it after a season

Make sure you get the 525lst. The l isn't strong enough.well a weekly trimmer. My 2620T doesnt. Did u have the T model or regular? Watch my overgrown vid where I use the 2620t.it destroys the tall thick grass. Yea the 4stroke does good.i hate how they roll and you have to level it with your wrist.the valves and head cause it to be top heavy.i don't miss using them lol. My 94rs are decent.well one is broke down.other never used it.hope all is well bud!

I'm a mechanic where I work but had to fill in on the mowing crew one day. I also mow on the side. Anyway, we have probably 15 Stihl FS100rx trimmers. I was using one for most of the day but then decided to try out the Echo SRM266. I used it for about 5 minutes. It was so heavy and unbalanced compared even to the Stihl 100rx. The Echo just felt clunky and slow. Felt like I was trying to race an overloaded grain truck. Sorta like a tank. BTW: I use Husqvarna myself. I actually just use a 322L for my weekly trimming. 9.1 pounds and then I take the guard off too. Does great. Doesn't weigh much more than a gallon of milk. I was using a 522LS but it was just way too much for what I needed for weekly trimming. Honestly the 322 sorta is too but I just got it because it's so light. The 322L and the 522L are the lightest trimmers Husqvarna makes. It's true. Look it up. LOL!!!

Not commercial trimmers even though they are light. Still will last a long time. The 525l weighs around the same but it isn't as good as ls and lst. I have several 223l with are 9lbs and 25cc.love them.

I live in WV also,I got both the 322l and the 525lst. The 322l is so light but also underpowered for the bi weekly wet grass the lst is for sure the best trimmer I've ever used. I just keep the 322l on stand by if the lst has an issue but going on three summers now of hard wide open throttle used commercialy it has never let me down.

I’ve been really concidering the 525ls but the more I look at the husky the cheaper made the husky seems u don’t get lightweight without the cost of loss of quality I feel but I do wish echo could loose a little weight I curntly own several sthil 55,56,66,74,,75,85,110 and several old robin and sthil brush cutters and my newest srm 3020t I went and got the standard gearbox that I run on it 99 of the time kinda on the fence want a light trimmer kinda want a srm 2320 and you can run a blade on the cable drives wish the srm had the spline solid drive line the cable drivereally takes away at any trimmer IMO

u get lightweight by using solid shaft unlike echo braided cable.magnesium casing etc. Just built better. ever hear or carbon fiber on high end cars? lighter is better sometimes.it is also redmax engine(why husky bought redmax). echo is good and feels good.so does stihl. i like them all. but husky is the way to go

I have both also and the Husqvarna is a little lighter but it just doesn’t have the power the Echo does. I wish it did. Maybe it’s just mine but the Echo works better for heavy duty trimming.

Do you have the torque model? They are almost identical with the husky actually having a better power rating. Echo is great though.the weight and vibrations hurt it.

A Lot! i have a 128ld. its an old standard trimmer husky has made for a long time. 525 are interchanged with their redmax brand.so its their top of the line commercial. 128 is not comnmercial grade. my 128 has been going strong for 5 plus years

Can't find a husky 525lst. I saw a new 525ls and it had a padded loop handle. The husky site shows a padded handle for the 525lst. I hope that is a running change.

I got the 525RJX recently which Husqvarna sells as a brushcutter. It looks exactly as yours but it has a plastic plate at the bottom. I would just ask how did you adjust the carburetor for optimal performance?

I held the throttle wfo and when I hear it I stop. You can hear when it hits its top rpm.going any further will lean it out.so be precise for longer engine life

I like my 525 Husky, but the BCZ260TS is a bit better IMO. I got rid of my Echo. Since they've started this "X" series stuff Echo has turned to junk...

I got it now and now I like it a lot. Would echo and husqvarna a tie but have to give husqvarna a edge cause how light it is other word power to weight is incredible, smooth and more balanced than echo even know echo have more top end raw power but not very much. Very small.

LK is the combi of the LS and LST with redmax engine. look up part numbers is how i see which engines are in what.but husqvarna bought redmax for their engines. they told me that

To answer my own question, it seems like the 525LK is basically the combi version of the 525LST/LS. According to the Husqvarna website, 525LK, LST, and LS all have the same HP engine while the 525L is about 10% lower in HP. I have both the 525LK and LST. The trimmer included with the LK looks to have the same gearbox as what comes with the LS.

Carbon builds up and chokes the engine.so much so it won't run.so you have to clean it often.it is only to prevent sparks from starting fires.

@@exterminator1 no big deal... it's only there to prevent wildfires lol...I personally leave mine in and find they rarely have any buildup...my guess is running without guards your line is out further than the manufacturer specs and this puts more fuel/oil through than can be fully burnt due to the added load...I love the guard vs no guard debate...

@@exterminator1 you make assumptions you don't know anything about...thanks for playing tho...I run my equipment all day everyday in my property maintenance business...maybe someone knows as much or more than you do-it's never wise to think you're the smartest person in the room...I follow and watch many to learn...perhaps my equipment is tuned correctly, gets plenty of wide open throttle, has a good fuel/oil mix...amd gets regularly inspected, cleaned and maintained better than yours. PS-running without safety devices on power equipment is not too bright...Main Street Mowers and Chickanic (Stihl and Echo dealers respectively) point out it damages your string trimmer running without guards and voids your warranty...my bet is it would nullify your insurance if you hurt someone with flying debris...Lawyers for insurance co. would have reason to reject your claim and a personal injury lawyer would detonate your entire net worth if you took out someone's eye and you took the safety guard off your trimmer...lolz you do you tho...you MUST know better than someone else...keep thinking like that and you'll never be as good as you can be with an open mind...Cheers!
