Kempys 100% right. The dally m is a flawed way to view who’s the best player of the regular season because it does reward short stints of form instead of longevity. A player rating system for each game gives players who have been better across the whole season is a better way to measure it and doesn’t just reward short patches of form. Great take Kempy

Nope player rating system for each game would not work at all. If you see player ratings after Origin games etc, you’d see why. I think we need to adopt the American system of just end of season voting. The main argument against it is recency bias is more prominent but I’d take that over the current system and a player rating system.

Have to disagree with ya on the Hughes Munster chat Kempy. Jahrome is the glue in that team and his been carrying the storm for awhile not just this year. As good as muny is on his day Hughes has been way more consistent over the last 4 years also. We the storm have needed someone to step up more often then not it's been Hughes

yeh similar to the rugby league weeks player ratings... so players can still poll points from dally m judges from 6-1 but its basically weighted within a overall player ratings system which every player gets weekly, so a player could be rating 8/10 all year and not poll many dally m votes coz they might have papenhuyzen in the team, but that player still has a shot at the daly m. Probably a better indicator. Also each team voting for there best player each week could come into equation. a players player voting system
