I am absolutely sure, some restaurant will definitely win the war between guitar modellers.

You hit it on the head with Helix overdrives. I've *never* loved the OD/distortion stomp models in Helix. Any time I can get an amp distortion in Helix, I'll try to use it instead of a distortion stomp model. That said, I have learned to like using ODs as additional gain stages to add to the amp distortion. The Timmy, OCD, Klon, TS9, KoT/PoT, Zendrive models all are pretty useful. It's when I try something like a RAT into a super clean amp where I just dislike it. For delays, I'm very happy with Helix. Adriatic and Tape are very good IMO, and all I typically need. Reverbs ... could probably be better. But they're not a core enough part of my sound for me to be so nitpicky.

Regarding the Kemper chips. Freescale was acquired by NXP and the DSP56xxx used in the Kemper is still in production. It is just NRND and it's in fact probably the best audio specific DSP family of chips ever made hence why the Kemper is still the leader.

Fishman Fluences use printed pcb "coils", nothing digital. There's actually no copper windings in them, hence no noise and the ability to stack many voices into the one pickup housing.

@@ToneJunkieTV no problem man, yes, they are very interesting. The computer program they use to design the PCB coils and voices is fascinating; it allows total control over every aspect of the pickups characteristics without the trial and error and inherent inconsistency of conventional wound pickups.

I actually think the margins are massive on the tonex one. It's just a host pedal, and the enclosure is cheap. They didn't add anything to it like bluetooth or anything complex. Think of how cheap the Amazon pedals are. I know this has a few more features. But I think the margins are fine on this.

Also, as far as plugins, I think a huge component of that is what kind of device people use. Me, I'm a desktop computer guy through and through. I'll use plugins if they give me something I feel like I'm missing. The Neural DSP stuff is fun to play through, as is Amplitube and Helix Native. I still have pedals etc for live use, but it's cool to be able to try out different things through my interface/computer. But not everybody will be like that. If your primary device is your phone, then maybe you wouldn't even consider plugins, especially if it's Android.
