Well i mean Joker vs Snake is a complete mismatch but that's the thing: it's Smash Bros fighters fighting one another. It's not Death Battle where the connection for each fighter is gonna have some sense or have similarities.

Excellent video, loved going through each fighter’s capabilities and relevant information in a timely manor, and the 3D animation was honestly super well done. There were a couple moments (mainly at the ending) that I noticed it looked a bit off, but everything else was stellar, you guys should be proud. Joker is my favorite video game character of all time, and Persona 5 Royal is my second favorite game of all time, so to say that I was rooting for Joker would be an understatement; mad props to the VA’s for doing a pretty good job imitating each character, Metal Gear characters included. The ending went about as I expected; Snake is the ultimate soldier who can singlehandedly destroy giant mechs and infiltrate top secret facilities, but Joker (with the rest of the Phantom Thieves help mind you) has defeated multiple mythological beings, other people who can wield these mythological beings, and has defeated a god three separate times. Show’s over.

Wow, now this... This is something else. Hat's off to you all, because this, this was pretty epic. I knew snake wasn't going to win, but personally I'm just happy that Snake at least tried instead of it being a 5 second stomp like Lucina vs ROB. Honestly, I for one LOVE the simple conversation interactions, and I really hope that you continue it in other battles. I 100% want to see more 'talking' instead of senseless violence. Jokers analysis: fantastic, it covered the points I wanted in a joker analysis perfectly. Snakes analysis: fantastic, I don’t know a ton about snake, but it brought up a lot of cool information and got me to want to try a metal gear game. The pre-animation story: solid. I was particularly interested, not all of the jokes landed, although some did, but overall it was cool for you to even think to add it in the first place. Animation: If I’m being honest, it was a little janky for my taste. Considering this show doesn’t have the largest budget, I can’t exactly blame y’all that much for the jank, but it was distracting in multiple points throughout the fight. The choreography was pretty good, though, I liked the way joker personas interacted with snakes gadgets, and it did a good job showing jokers massive power difference while making it seem like snake still had a chance because of how intelligent and prepared he is. I… honestly am still having a hard time getting over the jank of the animation itself, but I think the really well done choreography saved it. Conclusion: would have admittedly appreciated some stats rather some statements, but it was explained really well and covered good points. Overall: 8/10. The analysis and fight choreography, on top of the massive amount of care put into joker and snake really carried this episode, keep up the good work. That was freaking awesome! Despite the bits of jank (which weren't as bad as I expected), everything else was incredible. A story being told, the characters actually feeling in character rather than fighting like Dragon Ball characters, and House of Cards setting up the mood perfectly! I rate this episode 8.5/10. The analysis were both great, but the fight was a bit worse than expected. Not bad by any means, just good. Although I should've expected the sort of janky animation, I'm not sure how I feel about the voice acting. Joker and Otacon's voices were definitely not bad in hindsight, but they don't really sound like their video game counterparts. And there you go. That's my full review of the episode. Edit: After a rewatch, I realize that I'm just nitpicking. Regardless of all the flaws, this episode is incredible.

That’s a fair review. Honestly, I felt the same way. I know I probably shouldn’t expect super over-the-top high quality animation, but yeah those areas are a bit weaker than I expected. Regardless, the research, the outcome, the character portrayals, and pretty much everything else aside from the meh voice work and animation are seriously very good. (I of course mean no disrespect to the actors and animators in this, it was still good enough that I could let it slide)

Sure it is a stomp in Joker's favor but at least make it enjoyable like look at Saitama vs Popeye on Death Battle as an example and Goku Black vs Reverse Flash (Death Battle and Rewind Rumble)

I gotta give some criticism here. No disrespect to the animator, but there was definitely parts where the animations felt stiff or just didn't feel right. For example Joker running at the end looked really off. I might be a bit spoiled by Death Battle animations. It wasn't all bad though. There were definitely some cool moments here and there. Joker flipping while shooting his gun and Snake beating up Alice were pretty good. I also think the fight felt a little short. I imagine part of that is due to how difficult it is animating this stuff which I understand, but I think part of it is also I think the Snake, Ottacon, and Futaba scene went on a little too long. It's a cool idea, but it kind of killed the pacing of the fight for especially with how fast the fight ended after that scene. I think it would have worked better if it was a little shorter or if the fight was a bit longer. I also felt the fight animation was a little too one sided. I get the stats at the end show it was one sided, but I think for vs shows like this the animation should feel even for both characters. I never really thought at any point Joker was going to lose this. Even when he was visibly taken by surprised by Snakes trick in the end it didn't seem to do anything to him. I think it should have at least have disoriented him or something. Also I kind of wished the Metal gear put up a little more of a fight at the end. This one isn't a big deal, but I do kind of wished you compared Ottacon and Futaba as support and tech skills. Like would Futaba be able to hack Ottacon? I can understand why since the focus was on Joker and Snake, but it still would be interesting to see. Sorry if I sounded overly negative about the episode, because I definitely didn't hate it but these problems did stick out to me a little.

The one thing I will say is that Snake himself says that he isn't a patriot, the main antagonists of the Metal Gear franchise is basically a collective AI made in the white house. He fights for the freedom of the world, not just America.

I’m not one to comment on the quality of vs shows, BUT THE PRESENTATION AND SET UP ALONE JUST OOZES CHARM. I absolutely adored the interactions between Snake and Futaba. Snake never letting his guard down too was also a great touch as he keeps otacon’s orders to a T. For as long as this took, it managed to deliver on the hype and then some. Exquisite, worth every second waited to finally see that. I especially loved the cut-ins to their different support teams, and of course the animating was a total chef's kiss. This episode was insanely good! Worth the wait, thats for sure. But I have two complains, first is the lenght of the fight. Most of it was exposition and while passion for both series is very clear, maybe theres too much passion for it. Then there is the sound design that just fell a bit off and exagerated, dont know if this is just me nitpicking or not. Overall, amazing analysis, enjoyable and simple conclusion, ASTONISHING MUSIC and pretty great fight, 9/10.

Early RWBY levels of 3D animation, and no, I'm not talking about its fights. Sprites might just be better for the series, considering the budget. It has to be stretched pretty thin - it looks like you couldn't afford a proofreader, judging by the number of basic errors involving apostrophes that made it into the final video. The analysis was as solid as ever, but it's heavily offset by the battle animation capping it off. Despite how this comment must read, I'm still a fan of the show. I can only hope that its future is brighter.

I really liked the analysis sections. Detailed, and good summaries. If there's going to be story sections, I would suggest editing them down to about half of what this one was - the dialogue sections were a good idea, but way too long. Regarding the combat section, this one *was* very one sided, so I get it being short, but Death Battle provides some good examples of very one sided matchups which still give some moments where the weaker character gets to shine. But I'm still willing to give it a pass more than usual here because one of the characters hard neutralizes literally the entire kit of the other character, so it's not really a question.

Snake was Heavily Downplayed here. Not Saying that joker would lose, but snake has been seen to dodge Railgun blows which goes at Mach 20, so he should be able to dodge some hits and keep up with joker on that basis alone. And when where talking about strength cocoon weighs about 500tons scaling to BigBoss which he’s beaten. Plus, Codecs Channels to Otacon in the Metal Gear have never been hacked into. I could be wrong but based upon the power scaling I see some down play, not to mention he’s fought with people who could predict his future as well as deal with people who can throw buildings. Respect Snake.

@@chongwillson972 the way Codecs function on the Metal Gear Universe is via nanomachines. Which is access via a PMC AI Network that controlled not only the us and Chinese government but the US government. Futaba has only really hacked the Japanese government and if I’m not mistaken that took her about a week. Medjed took about a day? I could be wrong. But even so, that would allow prep-time for her to already know how Snake functions. Even Still it took Otacon, about a week to hack into the JD which is that Ai I told you about. So now doubt that Otacon would know if he was in trouble.

I disagree with that ending. The snake in the metal gear should have been a dummy to give snake a chance at the warp. Illusions and seemingly untouchable speed or power have proven to be no match for Snake's strategies.

You can only plan so much against someone who can casually summon a quasar with a regular spell while moving at relativistic speeds? They also left out a ton of Joker’s more powerful abilities, which make it even more of a stomp than what they presented.

​@@lucasm.3864 I was disagreeing with both the animation and the conclusion. Sure, Joker has an extreme strength and speed advantage, but he isn't used to dealing with Snake's kind of stealth. Even if Snake would still lose the majority of times, a lot of Snake's moves in the animation were out of character. The conclusion makes it seem like he would lose 100% of the fights, that's my problem.

There was definitely some jank, but for the first full 3D episode outside of Minecraft, this was extremely well done. Very much looking forward to future 3D episodes, especially Link vs. Ridley.

6:30 so why is this black hole feat represented for Joker but not other characters? Or was it just mentioned and not used for scaling? I'm just a little confused and need clarity cuz Fox for example has many black hole feats in game and in comic but vs Sonic weren't used cuz "they don't operate like a black hole?" But Joker uses cosmic flare and I assume that's gonna be used in future matchups

So i want to share some of my thoughts about the fight, just keep in mind i didnt hated it, just want to share my opinion. The research was ok with joker but i felt some parts of Snakes research were a bit off, the fight was meh, good animation, but very few was actually spent fighting, the jank in a lot of the moves can be expected as this is one of the first 3D animations, a problem i really had was both the voice work and character portrayal, primarily with snake. And also the fight itself felt a bit once sided, not only because of the obvious power difference, but also the choreograpy never gave snake an upper hand, letting him just as a punching bag. Of course not everything is a negative, as i said the engine in which the fight was made looked great, as well as the editing and music and i am happy the interactiok with Joker's gun did happen, but overall i dont feel it lived up to the hype it had, i give it like a 5/10
