Sorry for your loss. DNA can solve this case. Can you contact police, ( cold case) and demand they send DNA to Othram Labs. They have the technology that most jurisdictions don't have. They are top notch. For sure, they would find the killer. There was a federal law passed in the summer of 2022 stating all modern technology has to be used to solve homicides. Therefore, the state has to pay for testing. You have RIGHTS when you're aware of them. Chances are Detectives never heard of this case. You may get someone to work on her case. There's a chance he's done something like this before. Prisons were not required to take DNA from prisoners back then.

That's very sad! She seemed like an ordinary little girl just enjoying her life. I was born late 1964 so Shirley and I would have likely experienced similar things although I was born in Australia. I hope that since they have the murderer's DNA, that genetic genealogy can one day provide the answer as to who committed this crime. I believe in a God who will judge this man and although he might get away with taking Shirley's life in this life, he won't get away with it in the next! My condolences to you and your family! From country NSW Australia.

It breaks my heart whenever I hear about these helpless children. In 1975, I was 9. I remember a few times in my childhood, almost being abducted by an adult male. Once in Spokane Washington on Halloween 🎃 and once when I was walking home from gymnastics practice at age 12. The devil has tried to take my life many, many times. My heart goes out to kids today who must navigate through this present darkness where it seems all the freaks are emerging from their basements.

One day back in the 1990s I was with a friend in Northern Arizona. We were maybe a mile off the main road in a clump of trees sitting down and taking a break drinking water. Several minutes later I was told a story going back to when Arizona was still a Territory. Very near where we were sitting was the site where two young female's remains were found. Nobody was ever charged. It was said that Apaches might have done it. It is a weird feeling.

Some of the best sermons I have ever heard were not in a church building, but in graveyards by a man named Lamont. I was born in 1975 and cannot imagine little Shirley's suffering in her final moments on earth. And then the subsequent anguish her poor family must have endured once she was gone. I love your "sermons in the cemetery," Lamont. Please never stop doing what you do because nobody does it quite like you! God's bright blessings on you, on Shirley and her family, and all who find themselves here in this oft-times dark and lonely world. ❤

you never ever let a child walk all alone ever! that was absolutely wrong of her grandmother to send her off alone to go pick up something up for the night she should have been driven to her house! I cannot believe this! even back in the old days women and kids got kidnapped!😢

Lamont, you are so right about what you said concerning the killer not escaping justice from a higher power, and that is God! God knows who did that to that beautiful little girl. They will answer for what they did. There are only two places that all people will go to after this life, either Heaven or Hell! If you're Saved through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, then itll be Heaven. Jesus is the only way to Salvation. There is no other way! Only Jesus! Anyone not certain if they're going to Heaven or not, please keep reading. Please, if you don't know Jesus, please keep reading. 🙏🏻 Our Blessed Hope, our Savior Jesus Christ. Do you know him? Do "you", ("whoever" is reading this), know Jesus? Even more, are you "Saved"? If Jesus were to return today, "now", would you be ready? Are you ready? That is the one question that you, and everyone, better know the answer to, because that is the most important decision you will ever make. Jesus is the "ONLY WAY TO SALVATION". There is no other way, "none". This "life" that you are living now, is a "limited" existence. The life after this is "ETERNAL", which brings us to another question: "Where do you want to spend eternity?" Well, you have only "two" choices: either "HEAVEN" or "HELL"! Not everyone will go to Heaven and likewise not everyone will go to Hell. It's your choice! It's always been your choice. Have you ever wondered why we all don't go to Heaven? Well, it's because of just one thing. But that "one" thing "separates" us all from God, and that one thing, is "SIN"! We are all born into sin, everyone is, and the Bible says that the wages (penalty) of sin is "Death". You see, because of our sins, when we all die, we are all "eternally separated" from God. But you know what? God Loves you so much that he made a way for you, for all of us. The Bible also teaches us that even though the penalty (wages) for our sins is death, we can gain SALVATION (a GIFT FROM GOD) through his only begotten son, Jesus Christ. God made a way! He sacrificed his only son, for "you"! That's how much he Loves you. ROMANS 6:23 kjv For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Here's the GOOD NEWS, (THE GOSPEL) Jesus took your sins and paid your sin debt in full. He took all your sins, past, present and future, to the Cross, shed his Blood and literally DIED for your sins, was buried and then God raised him from the dead three days later. Anyone who believes in the finished work of Jesus Christ will be Saved. That's THE GOSPEL (which means GOOD NEWS). 1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-4 kjv 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. He paid the price so you don't have to. Jesus is the ONLY ONE who could. He is the ONLY WAY. JOHN 14:6 kjv 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. God gives you, all of us, this "GIFT", because he Loves you. How much does God Love you? Well, let me ask you this: "Could you sacrifice your only child?" That is exactly what our Heavenly Father did. He gave (sacrificed) his only begotten son, Jesus, for "you", for the "WHOLE WORLD"! JOHN 3:16-18 kjv 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Please, don't let Gods "sacrifice" (for you) be in vain. Jesus "died" for you. Please "Live" (eternally) for him.
