I'm not entirely sure if Pacific Drive is an indie game, but if so, it would be cool to see it's anomalies sized up against Dredge's sea monsters to see which ones would theoretical be more powerful

Woah! This is definitely worth the wait, i didn't expect a full on pokemon battle (even though that was totally obvious from the sneak peeks), and i like that you used the gen 3 games for the style, definitely the best ones and the sheer creativity of the moves and abilities and such (at least on the hollow knight side, have no clue about the katana zero ones) is amazing! Zero basically being a glorified shedinja was pretty funny, and i can definitely imagine the knight, hornet, hollow knight and le moth™ as actual pokemon. P.S: Does this fictional game series have a sharp shadow item? Ik the knight there doesn't have a dash attack but just asking.

Thanks man glad you enjoyed it! haha yes I actually created movesets for each character as the very 1st step of this project. Many have more than 4 moves and if I recall sharp shadow dash was one of the knights moves I just didn't happen to equip them with this time around!

I know for a fact the odds are against it, but I feel like the slugcats from Rain World (specifically the Downpour DLC, but base game could work if you think about Monk) could stand a chance. For example, the artificer and it's ability to make explosives (and be one), or the rivulet and it's broken agility. There's also the saint, I will not elaborate.

Funny enough there are laser obstacles in Katana Zero that instantly disintegrate anything they touch. Zero roll dodges though them. Does it makes sense? Not really, but there is the precedent for it. 🤣

If we're talking lore, instead of the Pokémon Battle format, then I see literally no counter here to Shade Lord. Zero sees every outcome? Big deal, how's he going to combat the Shade Lord enveloping the whole world? V has a gun? Big whoop, the Shade Lord kills gods. The Psychiatrist can fk with people's minds? Well good thing the Shade Lord is mentally and emotionally hollow, literally made to kill something that revolves around mind manipulation. It's kinda a stomp.

@@Vegathronthere’s this indie fps shooter game called Ultrakill, it’s still being updated and worked on! I can’t think of a reasonable matchup against Ultrakill, solely because of certain characters but especially V1. V1 is the player, a war-machine and one of a kind, who could theoretically live forever through instant regeneration via simple contact with blood. If V1’s opponent doesn’t have blood, then I could see the odds being more against V1, but even then V1’s simply too nimble to be hit most of the time Ignoring the divine and radiant damage V1 sustains, they’re not indestructible. Another being that would be incredibly difficult to kill would be the Earthmovers, giants the size of cities that can evaporate most things almost instantly, their surrounding forcefields also make them impossible to kill unless you get past it and kill it from the inside (then there’s the various security systems in place, and the self-destruction sequence upon the brain being killed)

Good question! We see loads of vessels permanently die (bodies literally everywhere around the map), this combined with steel soul mode to me confirms the fact the knight only respawns for gameplay reasons and not really lore reasons!

First of all, born of god and void so the knight probably could have also foreseen the future like the pale king because it's a child of the pale king (who could do that) Second of all, void heart, you forgot voidheart.

Hey there thanks for your comment! I specifically mention in the post battle summary this is pre voidheart knight (Also note it is intentionally missing when showing the knights charm setup). Reason is I want it to be the knight in the form we actually know them as, and once you include voidheart stuff the line of what is void and what is knight gets a bit blurry. Additionally once the knight goes full void monster it will lose its shell which it needs to access THK's mind and be able to face the radiance. This is up for debate but since this is its primary motivation and sole reason it was created I doubt it would risk this goal. And even if we ignore that, when fighting the radiance and bringing forth the void, there is a lot more going on than the knight simply saying "yeah ima become a void monster now!". Sure it can control the void with its will at this stage, but my interpretation of it is that it needs to want to win with its entire being to be able to will the void into such extreme action - this would also explain why it only occurs during the radiance and not against any random boss encounter. and since when you die to the radiance in the fight the knight doesn't actually just go void mode, to me that is proof that simply killing the knight's body can prevent it from happening, otherwise it would have just killed the radiance as soon as it's body was lost. You also have to remember the way Zero's ability works means the knight is fighting Zero for the very 1st time from its own perspective, but from Zero's perspective he could have practiced this battle literally thousands of times - this experience difference is a huge factor. As for the knight having some foresight just because the pale king did? well sure it's possible but I haven't seen any evidence or mention of this power, and even if this is so its probably a lot more subtle than what Zero can do! In reality its just a rather tricky ability that the voidheart knight has and its hard to split the lore power from the gameplay/mechanics side of it - so I decided its easier to avoid it all together - similarly I ignored Zero's ability to insta kill everyone around him when he is about to die, so I think that is a fair trade off!

Two mistakes in zero vs radiance 1: the wall of light IS undogable only void could dodge it 2: lore wise (in hk) nothing but void could kill a god (the radiance could be killed if everything forget her but that's besides the point)

Hey there thanks for the comment! *SPOILERS ahead* let me address your two points! 1. I would disagree with that assumption. Zero in-game rolls through static laser beams that instantly vaporize anything they touch (not even radiance light does that!) So I think that is at least an equal feat and is a pretty good translation of rolling through the radiance light! 2. I agree with this. perhaps I didn't make it clear enough in explanation but while Zero could physically kill the Rad, the Rad would simply re-emerge indefinitely. I did take a bit of creative liberty in expressing that in the battle as having her infinitely respawn would a: make for a really long boring vid and b: be very awkward to show in the poke battle format. So I settled for showing the win condition of the radiance which was to simply infect Zero (which to be fair, would take longer than the span of a single battle - but again: sacrifices had to be made for the format!) Thanks!
