I think this was such a natural progression for them. Watching the recent live videos and such, Noah has become so tuned with his voice which has this pop influence in it and noah has even said that he's a huge rap/pop fan before. If you go listen to the artist KESHI you'll hear such similar vocal styles. I believe that this kind of sound will help revolutionize the rock/metal scene and I think this is a perfect marriage between the two styles of post hardcore with indie pop influence. But this is coming from someone who LOVES both genres so for me it's easy to listen too and super good but for someone who maybe likes the older material this can be weird. I highly recommenced listening to these songs for the ambience and lyrical perceptions as they are the highlights. The breakdown in my opinion isn't just a cliche of heavy but a point of conflict in where the lyrics lead you and the heavy moment helps sell that emotion and conflict. I adore this song and I hope it'll grow on people more but if not it's all good cuz this is music which is based on opinion. :)
@nolankuffner35732 жыл бұрын
It's really difficult to revolutionize the genre with a sound that has been present for well over a decade though. This sounds closer to Skrillex than Bad Omens, and in a 'oh, is Sonny Moore having a manic depressive episode' kind of way. If it did either genre well and blended them artfully, maybe I'd connect with it, but it's just jarring and formulaic at this point. Not every song needs to build to that 'punch a hole in the wall' kind of moment. Sometimes, it needs to be good after that too.
@habitsphotography82292 жыл бұрын
@@nolankuffner3573 I can agree on some fronts but I respectfully disagree for the most part. You don't really hear vocals like this "too" often in this scene and synth work that's blended very well together. I think surface level people can only see the "generic" and "formulaic" sides of music and yes this song does follow those guidelines but instead of just saying it's doing just that, a listener needs to ask why they do those things? Why did the artist choose to write it that way? Too me this song tells a great story that's unique to itself and the snyth work helps build that ambience while the guitars give it that edge. For me I find more enjoyment out of songs than most cuz I dive deep into each song I listen too but like I said before I can get people not liking this style cuz it's not as flashy. This song is more about the vibe and presentation/feel than to blow your mind. But when you look at it the way it's presented it's honestly very good and unlike most people who are doing this style. And for me I enjoy the beginning more than the breakdown but that's just me. Hope that makes sense :)

I see where youre at with the plot similarities i never even noticed him and noah sound alike til you said it haha. Honestly i had a similar issue with the song only the part i was messed up on was 3:30 in this video. The first time i heard this song I actually thought they somehow got post malone on the song. I was so caught off guard. I just think noah and landon both have very versatile, light, and yet powerful and soulful voices. Its not just whiny metalcore singing. These guys sing from their hearts which is so rare these days. This definitely beats the first record tho when it seemed like bad omens was doing all they could to sound like bring me the horizon. Finding god was an amazing album and im super excited about this new record. I appreciate bad omens so much because every band these days its all about heaviness. Being a fan of this band since the first album, whats cool about them is its like a journey where we are just watching them grow with every record. I also just saw them live at inkcaceration festival and they sound even better in person than on the record. These are truly talented guys and im super excited to see what they are bringing us on this. I also love a band that brings MELODY. That is super important to me in music. Its the little things. From his voice to that part after the second chorus where they let the instruments do the singing for him. Oof. Love it. This band is underrated.
