Before I started my Locs I watched Damian for almost a year. I tried to learn as much as possible about the process. I eventually found a Loctician that understood what I was looking for, and also watched Damian as well. 1 year later, All my dreads are intact, I get consistent compliments, I get asked alot of questions about my journey, and I am enjoying the process. But it all started by just getting informed about the process, and not letting just anybody jump into my head. Thank you

Omg , that happened to me before when I was doing a co-workers hair. It was so sad and shocked me but her hair was really over processed with bleach and it just came out as I was doing a fishtail braid for her and I didn’t pull tight or anything with the braid. I know the place that I wanted to go and New York I went in there and I looked at some of the work but this is for natural hair not dreads or your dreadlocks they wanted I think back when I went to find out about it they wanted $125 to do my hair because my hair was waist-length and all I wanted them to do was a series of box braids and they told me $125 cuz it had to be conditioned and blah blah blah blah blah blah so I decided yeah on Saturdays if I don't have anything to do every 2 to 3 weeks I unplugged my own hair conditioner shampoo it and I do it myself Alan don't cost me no more that about $10 what's some of the oil the most of the oils and things that I use are you can ingest it so if I can eat it drink it it can go on my head or my scalp and my hair I don't put anybody else down but I don't have time for it I'm very impatient so I do my own hair can you text me maybe about about two and a half hours according to if I'm you know deep conditioning and putting hot cap on or whatever it may be in the winter time sometime when I'm conditioning with oil I'll put the cap on and a towel and put it under my hat and going about my business

Unfortunately, occasionally stylists get a bad rap for the condition of these heads. I started a loc client in January, and then get a message in April, "hey, can you retwist my locs". No shampoo, no retwist since day 1. Some folks refuse to follow proper care instructions for maintaining locs. It's not always the stylist fault.

😒 our hair will loc without all these kitchen ingredients, sounding like these stylists be getting ready to bake a cake or some shit 🙄 my locs are 5 months, stopped retwisting and using products at month 1 and began freeforming. Not even oil I use, just rosewater and shampoo. And my hair is locking like nobody's business. Not saying everyone should go this route, this just works for ME. But y'all need to be aware of the shit they put in your head, leave your edges snatchedt and bald 🤦🏾‍♀️ and even tho I freeform now, I love Damien's videos. Ppl dont understand that outside of keepin the Locks clean & moisturized... the less u do, the better/stronger the Locks♡ And i AAAAALWAYS get compliments, withOUT my Locks being twisted to my skull lol.
