When I started my locs I noticed that I was having a lot of dandruff. So I used sulfur 8 to wash and then I use a design essential leave in conditioner. To keep the scalp flake free I use sulfur 8 with my retest and since then I have been good.

I want to thank you , and every youtuber who preaches the right message. If it wasn't for youtube , i would probably have 3 motnhs old unwashed smelly nasty sticky locs! because the things that the people advice me where i live is just ...*ughh* The worst part is that if you have newbie locs , they want even listen to you if you tell them that it's okay to wash your hair! So i'm gratefull for everything that i learned thru youtube lol

Thank for your the demos and the conversation along the way on how to maintain the hair and the importance of "keeping the hair free from major products". Thanks, I sent this video to a young man who wants to get started on LOCS but needed to see this first. He was been looking at some non-professionals showing them how to do it really wrong. thanks Damian for setting up proper standards on haircare and Locs.

Do you have any tips for those with a very loose curl pattern? My son is biracial, but he desperately wants locs. We have tried the comb coils, but after 1 week he was "Puff the magic dragon" and after a month and a half of two week maintenance he still wasn't close to being locs. He also has a problem with flaky scalp that we didnt know about before because before he would wash his hair at least every other day. Please help. You are the best site that I have found on the internet.

Damian, I've been using "Hair One for dry hair" as my cleanser. it's labeled as a leave in conditioner. This is all I use on my hair (and water, sometimes a tiny bit of jojoba oil).. I hope I could continue to use just that one product, even after my first twist up

How do I maintain weekly maintenance on my locs? Spray with oils two or three times a week or what? Looking for pointers to help out. Also, what natural oils could be used being that I don't have access to your products for weekly maintenance and to do my retwist, because I'm not in America?
