Is it Possible to Make Sonic Give up in Each Boss Fight in Sonic CD?

As we all know, Sonic is a brave little creature who will never back down from any fight and won't give up until the bitter end.
However, we also know that he is quite the impatient so-and-so, and nowhere is this more apparent than in Sonic CD; should you leave him waiting for around 3 minutes, he'll have enough, jump off the stage and you'll get an instant Game Over.
But lately, I've been wondering something: is it possible to make him stand still long enough in each boss battle to do this during them? Well, that's what I aim to find out...

I remember when I first played Sonic CD, and I got to the end of a later level with less than 50 rings, so I didn't qualify for the big ring to take me to the special stage, and I couldn't backtrack at that point. I had 9 reserve lives, and the timer was currently at about 5½ minutes I think, so I figured I'd just wait around for the timer to hit 10 minutes and kill me so that I'd go back to the previous checkpoint and have another chance at gathering 50 rings in that level. So, I let the game run with Sonic idle and left the room for a few minutes, only to come back to "GAME OVER" staring me in the face. Yeah, I was NOT happy, and I never did 100% complete Sonic CD back then...

I actually managed to make him quit in the mobile version what i did was leave the boss with two of his blades and stand in the middle but more to the left of the side and he wont be able to hit you so you can make sonic give up

First of all, they're called *RINGS* and not *COINS* Coins are from Mario, but Unlike Mario, you lose your rings when you get hit, while in Mario, you don't lose your Coins, but you turn small instead, lastly, it's impossible to play Sonic without any rings because you need Rings to live, No Rings means Death, Death means you have to start from the beginning, unless you touched a checkpoint
