When each of my four children hit 14, I told them they were now responsible for washing their own clothes. I still did towels and bedding. Actually it worked pretty well, and they helped each other out. I was still on hand to make sure they followed basic laundry rules to keep them safe, the machines in good working order and their clothes in good condition. As each of them left home for uni or army, it was a comfort to know they had this skill under their belt.

Someday I’ll let you in on a story (in private) about my son and his laundry!!

I love every single one of your videos and I recently recommended your channel to a relative. Your systems are so well thought out and I appreciate all the tips. I really like your tip on folding the dry clothes immediately. Unfortunately our clothes that don't get folded immediately tend to sit in the clean hamper for too long. Keep up the great work!❤

HI from Japan! I love watching you in action and how beautifully organized you are! Since we live on Okinawa, we have great sunny days but we do have the rainy season where everything gets moldy. We used to have a clothes dryer but it took too long to dry and we did try the hang it first, then dry method. We discovered over 10 yrs ago by accident that our bedding in our rooms with the dehumidifier, became dry! So, we would hang jeans and towels in the room. Recently, the dehumidifiers are made for laundry. Hang things in bathroom if bedroom is being used. Win win for ending mold, too!

So different. I appreciate your accuracy and planning. You did a lot of work for us. Most of my wash is white and get clorox for health reasons. My dogs bedding covers are white too - but washed separately. My machine uses 6 gallons of water no matter what you are washing. I have a smaller great washer that will hold a lot and only uses a couple of gallons of water and spins it almost dry. It takes more attention than the big automatic washer, but save a lots of water and electricity. I tried to really fill the washer and I found that the clothes do not move enough, they sort of bunch up and stay that way. So, I now do more loads and it works good. Your research with your son is great.

I have had some downturn on mobility and I started looking for ways to get things moved around my home easier. I found a pull laundry basket (even the cheaper ones are expensive - $20 for a plastic one with a pull up handle - they go up to the 100s of dollars). Since I got it, I am thinking of getting another one for nonlaundry things. It is so useful and reminds me when it is sitting there to put things in it to take to the other side of my home. At first, I still went back and forth, but now working into a schedule that is really helpful for my health.

Love your videos! One thing: I would add the detergent and bleach to the water in the bowl before adding the garment or towels so that it would dissolve better and be better distributed. Thanks for your inspiration!

Oh, and jeans in the dryer ... should be ok on a gentle setting and a low temp - the heat can damage fibres or cause shrinking. Tumbling causes wear and tear on fibres, so if you can avoid putting jeans in, it will extend the life of your favourite denim.

You maintain everything Very nicely So motivating I reverse the clothes when I dry them if it's too hot I mean seeing the weather. So that they might not fade away

I hate sorting laundry so I got three baskets to just sort my clothes as I remove them. And my whites always get some bluing liquid/indigo to get them crispy white. Bleach here sometimes yellows your whites.

She was actually upset because I didn’t let her into my room for 5 days and when I came out, I got busy with housework. She wanted attention! 😂😂
