I love "Idol", but I often wonder what the performance would be if it wasn't hampered by the format etc. I love how Elise performed this on the show, but it was so truncated she didn't have much room to breath. THIS is awesome.

Good grief that was awesome! I was looking to see who all played on that gig and I forgot how awesome it sounded! I mixed that live right there, that’s the board feed I recorded for her. Unreal. I know what it sounds like, self pat on the back, but I have to admit that for a second while watching I forgot I did all that delay vocal fun time stuff. Then I heard Matt’s bass break up on the hard E double hit on the last verse. He uses top notch gear, I think generally an Avalon pre, so it didn’t sound horrible at all, but you defiantly hear it, and my dbx comp was trying its best to keep that out of the mix. Of course Lonnie kills the cello every time, he used to tour internationally with a very well known group. Fucking bad ass. Oh, and Kashmir. Another epic fun song with the challenge of more strings next to cymbals and no shield, but no biggie. And horns. And perc. And did monitors from FOH for like 8 mixes. Good times. Ok sorry. ‘‘Twas fun . Cant shut up. Won’t shut up.
