This could be No 1 Zep Tribute Band, if it was on their agenda, but it clearly isn’t. Alyona’s voice is strong and can easily reach the height’s that Robert set. Andrei is really an astonishingly great guitarist, and here he seems to get even with Jimmy Page, and in fact a bit beyond, when he diverts and goes his own way at the end, and he does it in an excellent way! Sina is a bit lighter drummer than Bonham, but she does excellent Bonzo cover anyway. She is strong and knows all the tricks that are needed! These guys should be super stars! Excellent cover!💪❤‍🔥

Ok...I’ve got to share this. It seems appropriate now. Robert Plant is local to my area. He was brought up within 30 miles of my home town, and lives locally to this day. So the occasional sighting is not unusual. Indeed, he has been known to visit my place of work to buy our products, so I’ve had some interaction with him before. However, a couple of weeks before Christmas, I had an evening which I will never forget. A band was playing in my local pub, a band who are damn good at their craft, but do it for the love of music rather than any aspiration to ‘make it’. I had decided to attend as it was my last day of work before finishing for the Christmas holiday. They were a couple of songs into their set, when Mr Plant walked into the pub. No ceremony, no entourage. Just a bloke wanting a couple of quiet beers. As it happened, the pub was quite busy, so by chance we ended up sharing a table. We spent the next 2 hours talking about everything from music to trees (I grow trees). What a wonderfully engaging, thoughtful and completely down to earth chap he is. Even bought me a beer. Or two.

It doesn't get any better than this. Aly is indeed a Led Zep expert, she nails them every time. She has a voice for rock like few others in the world. Andrei and Sina nailed their parts just as ably. I've come to regard all three as among the world's top rock musicians. (It doesn't hurt that whoever is doing the editing for these videos is a world-class master at it, too.) Mir geht es auch so, obwohl ich ja nicht mehr so ein junger Hüpfer bin (im Mai werde ich 65). Ich fand mehr zufällig ein Video von Sina, doch das war vor jetzt ca. 4 Stunden und seit dem sehe und höre ich ihre Videos. Meine Nubert schienen nach Wochen mit eher ruhiger Musik zuerst ein wenig überrascht, doch dann ließen deren Verstärkter einige Watt zusätzlich zu den Schallwandlern frei und die Post ging ab. Nur vorhin musste ich sie dann leider ein wenig zügeln, denn nach 22 Uhr gönne ich meinen Nachbarn in der anderen Doppelhaushälfte deren Nachtruhe.😁😉

Sorry this is late - we had some internet problems. It's long but I'm not sorry about that :D THE SONG - "Whole Lotta Love" was written by rock band Led Zeppelin members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jone, John Bonham and non-member Willie Dixon (more on that later!). It was recorded in May 1969 at London's Olympic Studios. It was released on the album 'Led Zeppelin II', as the opening track, on Oct 22, 1969 and as a single, in the USA, on Nov 7, 1969. The album track, and full-length single clocks] in at about 5:34 and include the freeform (aka "freakout") middle section. Radio stations found this portion unsuitable for airplay and started making their own edited versions. Atlantic Records responded with a 3:10 singles release that cut out the middle section and had an earlier fad-out. This edited version was meant for radio use only but some copies were released commercially. Jimmy Page disliked the shortened version and told the 'Wall Street Journal', "I played it once, hated it and never listened to (it) again." The 5:33 single release was the band's biggest US singles hit. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #91 on Nov 22, 1969, peaked at #4 on Jan 31.1970 and was last seen at #37 on Feb 28, 1970 with 15 weeks on the chart. The album, 'Led Zeppelin II', reached #1 on the Billboard 200 chart on Dec 27, 1969 and stayed there for seven weeks. It spent a total of 117 weeks on the chart. Led Zeppelin have often caused controversy over liberal "borrowing" from classic blues songs. Plant borrowed lyrics for "Whole Lotta Love" from blue icon Willie Dixon's song "You Need Love" which was recorded by blues legend Muddy Waters in 1962. According to an Oct 8, 1994 article in the 'Los Angeles Times', Dixon's 13 year-old daughter Shirli heard the Led Zep song and thinking it sounded familiar "she borrowed the album, took it home and played it for her father, blues songwriter-producer Willie Dixon, who confirmed her suspicion. It was, in places, virtually identical to his song "You Need Love." And he wasn't being paid royalties for it." Dixon sued Led Zeppelin. They settled out of court for a payment and songwriting credit. Plant admitted the plagiarism in an interview stating, "I just thought, ‘Well, what am I going to sing?’ That was it, a nick. Now happily paid for. At the time there was a lot of conversation about what to do. It was decided that it was so far away in time and influence… Well, you only get caught when you’re successful." THE COLLABORATION - Once upon a time (May 26, 2017 actually) Sina and Andrei had a collab of "Whole Lotta Love" up on both of their YT channels. It's still there on Andrei's but Sina's was taken down by publisher Warner Chappell. Not immediately but AFTER it had 605,970 views. One can only suspect that they were upset with receiving the ad revenue (remember Sina gets nothing for non-originals) and decided to put a stop to that! So here they try again! Will this one stay up? Hopefully. My suggestion is for you to download a copy. Then you can watch whenever you like! It's no surprise that the audio/video tracks of Sina and Andrei are reused here. They were perfect in 2017 and are as perfect now. The vocalist this time is the incomparable Alyona Yarushina. She is a familiar face (and voice) on this channel having done previous Led Zep collabs with Sina (look for "Black Dog" and "Rock and Roll"). Aly is a Led Zep expert with the shirt to prove it. Aly has a long musical history with Mike Wilbury playing in separate Beatles tribute bands from 1999 to 2006. In 2009 Alyona had some shows in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. With some American musicians, she formed the ALYONA AND WONDERWALL band to play Led Zep and Beatles covers. She originally started singing Led Zep songs with the band Plumbum Dreams. Rosanna had a discussion with Alyona who told her - "Many years ago I had not even been listening to Led Zeppelin - even none of their songs were familiar to me at that time before in 2008 a Led Zeppelin tribute band called Plumbum Dreams found me through musical friends and asked me if I want to sing 2 LZ songs with them in Moscow on 40 year anniversary of Led Zeppelin. I decided to try. At that moment I already used my raspy sound in Beatles music. So they gave me just 2 songs: "Since I've Been Loving You" and "The Rover". After that show this band invited me to be their lead singer. That's how I was attracted to that music. Only after I started singing them. Then those songs became really close spiritually to me. Many of them. So I performed often." Led Zep's drummer John Bonham is regarded by many as the greatest and most influential rock drummer in history. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number one in their list of the "100 Greatest Drummers of All Time". Rosanna wanted to know how Sina felt covering Bonham's style. Sina told her - "I think John Bonham is influential to every drummer, whether he or she wants it or not. I tried to follow the original recording as accurately as possible. There is often some kind of 'trick' that you have to figure out before playing Led Zeppelin songs, so it doesn't come that naturally to me. But once I had figured it out, it was not too hard to recreate." Sina didn't reveal the "trick" but it's obvious that it worked. There is another collab featuring Alyona, Sina, Andrei, and Rick Benbow coming up sometime next month. Some of those on Patreon already know the title but I won't spoil the surprise here. I wonder if Warner Chappell's shareholders (or the songwriters, who also have a clear interest) know that they are being deprived of income by the board? Maybe someone should buy a few shares and raise it at a shareholder's meeting, as I believe this to be in breach of the legal obligations of any company director, who has to make every (legal) effort to make money for his shareholders, at least under English law. I'm surprised that the law firm they hired to issue the takedowns weren't apparently aware of this either - that seems to be failing in their duty of care at the very least.

Sina, I love Led Zeppelin as you know I met John Bonham and have fond memories from my drag racing days. I love this song one of my favorites Alyona is an excellent singer and really captures all the energy of the vocals. @@tjvanpopta I say that all the time also, Trucker. I'm flat out in love with Alyona. I think she is a world class singer/musician. She has already proved that. She has toured with Sina's father in two different cover bands. I found that out searching her videos from the beginning. And some of her videos I have linked to other posters who have videos of her that aren't on her channel. Kind of like "lost videos of Alyona". She also toured with her Russian rock legend father and brother singing everything from American rock classics to traditional Russian ballads. Man, she has so much content on her two channels, I make a new discovery almost every time I go there. She did some gigs with an American band here in the States so she's paid her dues, man. And the way she plays, records and produces her own videos is incredible. Check out "Dream On" and "We Are The Champions" for instance. She is totally in control of that midi keyboard, sampling the keys, bass, rhythm, lead guitar AND drums! And laying down up to six vocal tracks and mixing it all down herself. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm impressed. But the thing is, all three of these musical geniuses are already involved with other bands and projects. Sina has her band, "The Gas" and all of her side projects. Andrei has his band, "The Crossroads" and all of his side projects. In May of 2017 Alyona announced she joined another band that tours doing classic rock covers. I'm not sure if that band is still together though. I haven't heard or read anything lately about it. But yea, after all that BS above, these three powerhouses and a good bass player would make one hell of a great band. Sina's drum talent is beyond anything I've seen. At least on KZbin. From the extremely minimalistic but tasteful licks she laid down in "Scarborough Fair", to the monster workout in "Burn", she would be an excellent member of any band that could equal her. And now we come to someone who can equal her. Andrei Cerbu. He's another multifaceted musician. Holy crap! Eric Clapton himself couldn't have played "Hoochie Coochie Man" better! And he is still so young! What I like about Andrei is, he doesn't rely on show off shredding. He has the tasteful licks of a master rock and roller. So yea, these three with a good bass player and Alyona with the experience of about a decade of live touring, should be a powerful combination of talent. I would love to see them as a live touring band.

I know you are very fond of this talented young lady from Russia. So am i btw. Alyona is the best female singer i,ve heard/seen in decades! World class,yes. I am 68 years old and i think i have lived through the best music ever recorded. The amount of great music that evolved in the 60,s & 70,s was unbelievable. A magical musical era,the best ever,puur and simple. Melodies and harmonies that lodge in the mind and soul forever. No better time in music history and music has never been as great either or fear ever will again. Watching these youngsters playing classic songs is amazing.All the great stuff i grew up on. I really like her covers such as "Total eclips of the heart" (Bonnie taylor) and "Alone" (Heart). I never thought i,de hear anyone get close to Ann Wilson, imo the best female singer in pop music history. Not very many can pull that of,but Alyona did. I couldn,t believe it ! btw,did you know Aly is a student at Ken Tamplin vocal academy? i,m so glad i discoverd her! Sina,s drum skills are exceptional, certainly the best i,ve ever seen. Andrei Cerbu is such a likable guy, and magnificant guitar player at such an young age. I believe he,s 16 years old. I,ve seen the "Hoochie Coochie man" video. That was pretty amazing.Clapton better not watch this.Haha. They all 3 love the good old stuff,how great is that! I know they are involved with other bands and projects. To be honest Sina,s band " The Gas" and Chi Might music are not in my comfort zone. I,m old school and to old for that stuff. But Sina is moving on,she has to,she want,s to, i know that.
