@joshua0226 I personally have no idea but being a part of the early Zep days (I am almost as old as Page himself!), I could guess one scenario---- Jimmy built the damn thing himself from scratch. Bands were soooooooo creative back then.
@technocrash0914 жыл бұрын
@DJMC141 actually, U can get one relatively cheap (200 to 400 bux). By the time you add all the other effects, however............that's different. You can get one, tho', without spending a fortune....and just play around with the thing and add stuff later. Checkout Etherwave theremins on the web :) peace

To quote JP from the film "It might Get Loud" (checkout Jimmy Page plays the Theremin on YT), It hasn't got six strings; but it's a lot of fun! I can mimick JP with his theremin playing on TSRTS very accurately using my theremin through a G1XN Zoom effects pedal etc. Great sounds, but I couldn't play the guitar like him even if I practised for a squillion years (more's the pity)! No, he's just having fun on stage.....................and why not?
@ccarington14 жыл бұрын
lol, the editor is like "no, this isn't trippy enough for the 1970's, lets mirror the film while he's playing that thing"

I don't get it. I mean, it sounds kinda cool but is there really any skill involved? I've seen other theramin performances on yt that actually play real melodies and it looks pretty hard. Seems like Jimmy was just messing around here.

This is the type of bullshit Jimmy Page was celebrated for. The average listener is either so drugged out or just plain ignorant that they don't even realize that this particular segment of the concert film/album had absolutely nothing to do with guitar playing. Some of Page's other songs that are so called anthems were played using mandolin, not guitar. I'm not saying he wasn't great for the genre and for the time, but he's certainly no Steve Howe.
