Nice work! I got my turkey but it got a little too rough for the kayak. Hopefully the crab don’t mind waiting a few days for turkey this year

That fish finder looks awesome. If u catch a small rockfish send him backdown and wait for the ling to latch on and hitchhike. Don’t break the water surface and they won’t let go. Lots of big lings up in the sunken reef area and north

I'm not going to jump to conclusions but this year I'm seeing a lot of questionable pots being pulled. I have spoken with others and they all think there is a lot of poaching going on this season!!

I had a two day soak and pull zero, but the bait was shredded. I rebaited, set them, checked them in within a half hour and had crabs...............It sucks when this happens.

Somebody probably did take your crab, it's to bad that there are still people around that are willing to do that, you have a great character to not even get mad, it's all about good carma and you have plenty, keep up the awesome videos.

A little zip tie on the door helps. If someone checked your pot it's broken. They will never replace it.
@elsancho13754 жыл бұрын
Dfg doesn’t want u to use zip ties in case the pot gets abandoned- they want u to use cotton twine so that it rots out and the crab can eventually escape.

I have had lots of success catching big lingcod using a three way swivel to two hooks, and a frozen squid, or live smelt, kingfish, or mackerel, and a 4-8 ounce weight depending on how fast the current is.

Hey Chris, I like to put a tie wrap on my main door before dropping the pot. That way you know whether your pot was raided or not when you bring it up.
@tp28084 жыл бұрын
Good idea, but isn't that illegal?
@cgyotoku4 жыл бұрын
@@tp2808 I don't think so. I still have rotten cotton for the escape rings. The tie wrap is just for the main door, where the crab are removed from.

Hello Chris, your boat name North river,so what city you live in and where you launch your boat?
@ernie5483 жыл бұрын
Dude, there are so many fish and smaller invertebrates that come clean that off so quickly. I leave traps out, and personally don't think they are robbed so much. I try to use bait bags and things that make it harder for my bait to be eaten.

put your underwater camera on a crab pot. if the camera is gone, then you know if someone jacked your stuff.. we have been having the same problem, don't know for sure if we are getting jacked or not, we have been leaving our pots out for 2 to 5 days, but in the whole grand scheme of things we are doing ok. not limiting out but ok

from the camera, it looks like you are moving the bait too much. you keep pulling the lures away from the fish. just saying
@ChrisPfish24 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, I agree, did you check out my latest video. I discuss that. Its a combo of jigging and the boat going up on a wave so lure is taken 5-10' feet from ground. Watching this footage, best is probably leave it on bottom for 5 sec then lift and have it drop in another new spot for a couple seconds. give them a chance. thanks for watching and leaving a comment
