I'm so glad you are branching out on the types of ingredients you are choosing to use, despite "those people," who are highly misinformed, that think synthetic means "bad." 🙄 I love this recipe/formulation. I've never tried an anhydrous body wash formula, I will certainly be giving this a try... as soon as I can find a seller in the US for waterless surfactants. I have at least 10 different surfactants, none of which are waterless... or maybe... I wonder if any of my powdered surfactants could be worked into a similar formulation..... 🤔
@WholeElise3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Absolutely, the lack of transparency around synthetic ingredients has made it difficult to find information with regards to their origin, byproducts, potency & lasting effects on the skin - so I understand reservations that people have. Hopefully, I can find a good balance in the future, because it really does open up what's possible with homemade cosmetics! Powdered surfactants could be a good option - but a lot of powders are in fact insoluble in oil, I've been tricked before 😅

@heidicroucher3 жыл бұрын
It's not what one would consider "Natural," because of the surfactants that are used. However, that doesn't mean it is BAD. Many surfactants (like the ones used in this formulation) can most certainly be made to be mild, gentle, and for sensitive skin. So many people think that if something isn't labeled as "natural," then it must be BAD for you or your skin.... and that's just simply not true.

Hi thanks for sharing. Looking for a precise scale especially for measuring EO to purchase please do you have any suggestions
@heidicroucher3 жыл бұрын
Depends what country you live in. Since I'm not sure what country you live in, I would say your best bet could be Amazon. They have a TON of different kinds of scales. When you need a precise scale that measures in small amounts (like for Essential Oils), you need to make sure you take a look at the scales maximum AND minimum weight capacity. It should measure in grams and ounces and the most important part is getting a scale that has a minimum weight of at LEAST .01 of a gram, although, if you can find one that goes smaller that would be beneficial as well. As for the maximum weight, it would be a bonus if it could go up to 500g , especially if you are making something in a Pyrex or lab beaker. I have 2 different scales. 1 for smaller measurements to weigh out my small batches, and 1 for weighing out the whole recipe or bigger batches. The scales that have a higher maximum weight tend to only have a minimum weight accurate to either 1g OR .1g. I hope this help. 😁
