For the partially hidden stop sign I noticed that shortly before that there was a fully visible sign that indicated that there would be a stop sign ahead. So I think if they could train for that it would have expectation that it would need to stop at the next intersection.
@skierpage19 күн бұрын
Yes, 20:45 FSD didn't notice the warning sign about upcoming stop sign, and then at 20:48 it ignored white "STO[partial P]" painted on the asphalt, and a second later the "STO" part of the red stop sign became visible in the foliage, then a second later at 20:50 the entire "STOP" plus "ALL WAY" underneath is visible, and at that moment it draws a stop sign on its visualization, but doesn't stop.

From what I've seen on V13.2.1, HURRY/STD/CHILL doesn't show on the screen all of the time, but is still active. The word shows up if you use the right scroll wheel. This also shows the current maximum speed setting. Also, approaching the maximum set speed will bring it up to remind you why it isn't going faster. I don't know if the mode disappears because of changes in the render view angle and then doesn't come back because of a bug or what. Because you should be able to remember where you set it for short time, it isn't a big deal.

I feel compelled to comment on one part of the discussion in the video (specifically regarding robotaxis). First off, I want to note that I've driven nothing but Tesla vehicles since December of 2012 (I had one of the first 3,000 Model S cars), and I still feel that I don't ever want to drive anything else. However - as nice as this version of FSD is, I still don't believe it's close to unsupervised FSD - at least where I live (in Oregon). I say this because I still regularly see times where FSD is disabled because of sun in the camera lens, or bad weather. Every time a weather cancellation happens, I think to myself "this must have only been tested in nice-weather territory like California 😄". And I haven't driven this one long enough yet to know if it's been addressed, but the last version didn't obey school zones (flashing lights) which is a BIG issue. There are other examples, but those are a couple of big ones that I see as a problem. I'm a tech fanatic and love the technology in the cars (that's a big reason I bought one in the first place), but I'm still not sure if the weather issues are possible to address when using only cameras. I'd *love* to be proven wrong, so if I've missed something, let me know! Having said all that, I did a test drive this morning, and I was definitely impressed with the smooth driving of this release, plus I did a drive where the car backed out of the garage by itself - even turning the steering wheel to avoid bottoming out the car as the street in front of my house angles up a bit from my driveway. That was very mind-blowing (and fun)! I worked in IT my whole career (the latter part at software companies), so I know how fast software can improve, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens with the next few releases of FSD.

I have been enjoying the update, but today I got into a scary situation. I feel like fsd still has trouble on the highway in which you may be going 65-70 and up ahead the traffic is almost at a complete stop, but shows no sign of slowing down. I had to intervene because it was just too close to call for this. Maybe it wanted to switch lanes, but still the next lane was also slowing down significantly. This was my concern on v12 too.

Even on my hardware 3 M3, my interventions have mostly become out of annoyance/convenience. They are no longer safety takeovers and more just "please go above the speed limit for gods sake". That and it won't change in or out of the carpool lane in AZ because it's a solid white line. HW4 handles carpool lane almost flawlessly but will make you signal to get into it (semi override). They are so close and really getting down to some edge cases. Assume HW5 will be the base model solution that will eventually be able to achieve true FSD without the need for a steering wheel.
@Str8ABH20 күн бұрын
You mentioned that life would suck without FSD doing the heavy lifting around town in LA, and I can attest to that over in Seattle as well. I recently had a lady run a stop sign and destroy my Model Y and I’m now in a rental (Hyundai Kona) and I honestly can’t believe the difference in experience. A Kona isn’t really supposed to be all that impressive, I get it, but if a vehicle like this is most people’s first electric car experience, no wonder they think it’s terrible. We are spoiled with what Tesla offers for sure.
@jamescummings96819 күн бұрын
I’ve had two instances where on FSD I had to intervene (slam on brakes) to keep from rear ending car I was following. Both cases in heavy traffic doing about 40 mph, couple cars in front stops abruptly remaining cars have to slam on brakes. Granted it may have stopped on its own but I ended up 2 ft from car I was following. Have you seen or tested this. I believe FSD follows too close for speed and I had it on Chill.

20:53 the stop sign was interesting.. it was so overgrown, by the time it became visible the braking would have been very hard. A very defensive driver would have anticipated it though (due to previous stop signs along the same road at 'intersections')

Overall, based on how it looks in the video, despite the traffic, I think there's nothing to compare it to driving in Tel Aviv. Crazy people drive here. They don't stop on red, they don't stop at stop signs. The couriers are even crazier, they get on sidewalks, they drive against the direction of traffic. In short, Sodom and Gomorrah. I wonder if fsd will overcome the madness. Not to mention driving in India, for example. It should be interesting. I love fsd
