I really love the ghost stories connected to these houses. I've often thought the British Royal Family must have lots of ghost stories having grown up in those old houses and palaces, especially with all the drama that went with being royalty. That's the book Harry should have written, he could have interviewed his family and the staff and it would have been so much more interesting and would have burned less bridges in the process! 🤣 Thank you for doing this video, it was so interesting and fun!

We live in Toronto where there are tons of ghosts. I think that most old buildings are haunted and I feel the same way about them as you do.I used to live in a 1939 building downtown and one night when much Music was playing a tribute concert for a recently deceased rock star, the cord on the phone across the room was swinging in time to the beat. I thought...that's cool

My flat's haunted. Ive only seen him 3 times, but hear him a lot and things go missing and reappear months or even years later. Odd things like a powder compact, extension leads,a set of pyjamas, fountain pen, rolling pin. The pen vanished when I was 4 metres away and reappeared months later in a pot of makeup brushes. Julie should write a compilation of all these stories and call it Oh My Goodness! A book of Britain's Haunted Manors and Castles.

Your ghost is funny. Pahama's? Really? Ohhh and the pen, yes ghosts like pens, I can testify to that. And shiny things. That must have been quite frustrating about the pen! I lived in a house that was built in the 1940's in America. I volunteered at a Living History Museum that was built in the early 1800's. (Old, for America). I swear those ghosts followed me home. One year I had spent quite a bit of money and bought a whole sheet of Christmas stamps, and tucked them away in the drawer where I always keep stamps. Well, when I went to get them because I was going to be writing out the Christmas cards, they were gone! Naturally, I searched high and low for them even accused my husband of taking them, but, they were nowhere to be found. TWO years later, they reappeared in the Same drawer where I had put them originally, and in the same spot, the same drawer that I used ALL. The. Time! (grumble, grumble grumble). They also had a thing for my hairbrush. LOL I wound up having to buy a couple of hairbrushes Just so I would have one!!!! Oh, and jewelry? Forget it. They looooove shiny things! --They would reappear in the weirdest of places! Hahahaha I finally learned from the gal who operated the Manor House, how to deal with the ghosts and their swiping things. Just tell them sternly to GIVE it BACK! Or I'll throw you Out! They have to obey us. They do, because we have ways of tossing them Out, and they don't want to lose their home.

I don't believe in ghosts but I do enjoy hearing the stories, they're often such an intimate glimpse into a snippet of time in a real person's life we probably wouldn't have heard otherwise, like the story of the woman shouting at the men through the window. The story gets preserved and passed down. My father died in my childhood home, he was an amazing and caring man, I'd be so heartbroken if someone else got scared simply by the fact that he died there, he would've welcomed them to the house and tried to feed them, it's just how he was.

Love this! I love ghost stories, because they preserve the "small" stories that normally get lost in history. Like the lady and her pet ape - that story probably would've been lost if there weren't a ghost story!

There was movement in almost every frame, and not only one at a time, either. Yes, very busy. We had a priest hole behind a bookcase, when I lived at Hever Rectory..but the ghosts there were quite otherwise, some were protective, others, completely hidden unless they didn't like someone!

Scrolling through KZbin I came across your channel. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but near the end at 28:21, there is a moving shadow at the bottom of the stairs in the hallway, on the left side, followed by a white orb. I backed the video up many times just to make sure if I was seeing things or not, and,....well,.....go look for yourself. It's there clear as day. Of course I don't know if there was anyone else in the mansion or not, but the shadow and orb is there nonetheless. I Really enjoyed this video! If you're brave enough to do any more on this topic, then may I suggest visiting Glamis in Scotland? I was there ages ago, and a friend and I got separated from our group, and got lost. We climbed a winding stairwell, and went into a room that was closed off to the public. When we entered the room, it was quite warm in there, but the further into the room we ventured, the temperature changed quite suddenly to beyond a chill. It was downright cold, and we could see our breath. Mind you, this was in the heat of summer when this happened. Then I heard someone whisper my name. At first I thought my friend was playing games, except my friend is male and the voice was female. That was rather unnerving, but to top things off, when we walked into the adjoining room, there was a child's rocking chair that was rocking all by itself! (I'm getting goosebumps as I type this). If you guessed we fled from there like a bat outta hell, you would be correct! --Soooo if you're up to visiting a real haunted castle, (it has other ghost stories as well), then go and visit Glamis. Make sure you go up into the nursery off the tower!

I feel like I was born in the wrong country in the wrong era. I have always like England.....always felt a connection to it. The castles....ugh....so beautiful and mysterious. To be the Lady of the House in the 1800's and wear such pretty gowns and dresses. Riding in a horse-drawn Carriage. Having big extravagant dinners in The Great Hall. I loved this video and hearing the history of some of these Castles. I started watching this in the dark but had to turn a light on pretty quickly. Here's some short stories: My daughter saw my Mother almost a year after she died. My Mother heard her Father's voice calling to her after he had been burried just days before. My sister had experienced ghostly phenomena at a college that she attended. My Mother used to be a Secretary and she said she heard voices from another room, but she was the only one in the building. Pretty Scary Stuff. I have yet to see a ghost....but I have felt things that cannot be explained. Happy Haunting Everyone!! 👻👻👻👻👻👻

Unless the person requested it, no one would ever be buried under the floorboards - unless you are living in a stone house in prehistoric Britain where they kept their ancestors close. I'd say it was a person who was murdered and the Master of the house buried him there. It might have been a servant who they believed was disrespectful or, much like they'd throw people into an oubliette. I'd say it would be an interesting show to find out the history of the house. Possibly someone went missing? I think that would be an excellent story that would bring much attention to your viewers. Wonderful show! Thank & Bless you!

Yes, exactly! At Hinchingbrooke, with Julie, the Earl and his sister, said they used to play in this small space, where two adult skeletons laid, below, under glass, I presume. The smell of death, yuck! Anyway, Julie asked who they were, and they denied knowing. Amazing that these skeletons remained even after sale of the house and which is now a school. Maybe they do not haunt and is reason they are not included in this video about ghosts. Very interesting Julie has not researched These people. Or maybe, she has and I have missed it?

I have encountered four ghosts since the 1990s. which is four more than I ever wanted to meet. I blame a dear friend who deliberately put me in the bedroom where I was awakened by a huge floating head in the middle of the night. We had a long staring contest while I stayed propped up against the wall by the bed. My friend asked me the next morning if I'd met the new ghost in their home. I met the third ghost in her next house. I knew it preferred to stay in the bedroom I stayed in when visiting (although it roamed all over their property and theough the house) so I left my suitcase on the foot of the bed and msde a point of not looking at most of the room. I was awakened one night to find him sitting on the edge of the bed, reaching across me to hold my hand while informing me of Len's pending death and my friend's later (still to occur) death. He oozed compassion and empathy, which I understand is his personality, but he terrified me as much or more than the huge floating head. All four did. I never understand anyone saying they would love to encounter a ghost. Diane, using Joe's tablet.

The grounds and lamdscaping of the final house was gorgeous. But WHY, of all the regions on earth, is Great Britain so packed full of ghosts?

I could never clear generations of spirit from an old mansion if I were lucky enough to have one. I find that terribly sad.😢

Saw a ghost once. Heard my 4 year old son talking in his bedroom so I walked in there and there is a man in there sitting on the floor with him watching him play a board game. He had his back to me he turned his head gave a creepy smile and disappeared before my eyes. Freaked me right out. My son was fine. Never saw it again
