6:55 he actually left out something really cute about the experiment. One bee specifically literally went back to play with the balls 20 times! Even when he was physically taken out of box he still flew back in to continue his fun. That was probably the bee's happiest day!

some sharks love to be cuddled and can form friendships with each other or even humans, also you have a higher chance of dying to a coconut or a vending machine than getting killed by a shark, so we really did them dirty

I'm surprised Casual Geographic didn't include the clips of ravens rolling down snowy embankments. They've even been filmed doing it on roofs or parked car windshields in the city when the snow is less deep. They're adorable!

I don't think he ever mentioned why we _think_ those bees do it! Training. Like actually. We think it's so they can train for landing on flowers. _its so fucking cute_
@Xanderj892 жыл бұрын
So rewarding play that incidentally prepares them for landing on flowers. Training sounds a bit too intentioned.
@FireTurkey2 жыл бұрын
@@Xanderj89 I mean they do this exact thing with real flowers, I'd say actual play sounds far too complex for a bee.
@Xanderj892 жыл бұрын
@@FireTurkey sounding a bit too much like orthogenesis for my liking. Play for fun makes more sense than any kind of deterministic ‘training’, implying they know what they are doing it for. That it’s the same thing they do with flowers tracks with natural selection, the ones who choose to do it for play are more likely to do it correctly with flowers since it is enjoyable, thus making them more likely to survive long enough to pass down their genes. It’s the difference between thinking “giraffes with long necks managed to live long enough to pass on their genes because they could reach the trees” and “giraffes evolved long necks to reach the trees”, the latter incorrectly assumes intent was involved when none was needed. Arguing it’s play or not is one thing, arguing they are doing it because they know they need to develop that skill is another.
@FireTurkey2 жыл бұрын
@@Xanderj89 Oh I don't think they actually know what they're doing. To me it just seems like something in that little bee brain is going "it moves, it's your size, grapple it."

Mustelidae is a group of carnivorous mammals known as mustelids. Members include animals such as: otters, weasels, ferrets, minks, martens, badgers, and wolverines. And yeah, don't let the appearance of an animal fool you. Dolphins are psychopathic monsters, and some species of penguin, such as the Adélie penguin, are hardcore perverts.

Mustelids (the family that otters are a part of) are the family of carnivorous mammals that include weasels, ferrets, minks, martens, ferret-badgers, Eurasian badgers, African polecats, grisons, the honey badger, the American badger, and the wolverine. Which since mustelids are also a part of the suborder Caniformia, they are related to bears, canines, pinnipeds (seals, sea lions, and the walrus), skunks, raccoons, coatis, olingos, and the red panda.
