WHOPPER PLOPPER 75 TRIAL RUN !!! UNEXPECTED RESULTS

just got the 75 plopper in and went to the local honey hole to try it out with a lot of success there are a few things that i dont like about it like the small hooks i lost a few fish becdause of that and when casting it far i noticed that it would not start plopping that well unless i held my rod tip high in the air and it tended to turn on its side because of the tail putting so much torque on the lure because its so big !! other than that i did catch some so im pleased overall with the bait just got to make some minor adjustments to it please leave any comments questions or concerns in the comment section i will answer all to the best of my ability hope you enjoy the vid and dont forget to keep them lines wet cuz its all about the hookset !!!!!

6:10. with both 90 and 75 I hold my rod tip a little high when I start my retrieve to keep the line off the water and it has less tendency to want to dive.

I bought a few 90s and I agree that they want to dive for the first 5-10' of retrieve. I have hardly used them because of that issue. I am thinking of trying to find some lighter wire hooks. Curious if anyone else has tried that and has a recommendation.

I just started fishing out of a two person canoe myself and I put some swimming noodles on the center bar, the sides, and the seat so that nothing would wear on my line or scratch my rod. Nice vid on the plopper... I run a 30lb mono leader (about 6 inches) to a swivel in front of my 75.. I started doing this because of Pike but I found the heavier leader actually keeps the nose up on long casts. Bass dont care either.. I had to use a swivel because it was twisting my line really bad... Smallmouth love the Whopper Plopper 75... Im over 40 in 6 outings with it... BEST LURE Ever!!! Fish on friend..

You’re on point on the color with the t1000! My 6 year old caught one his second cast with the 90 in it and then I went and bought the 75. I like it for my son as he’s still learning to set the hook and they about set themselves on these. Best color I believe as well

Try this , I have the 110 and the 90. Put a split ring and a good swivel on the the front of them . You won’t get the line twist and it prevents the severe line twist if the tail gets stopped up by weeds or debris. It works great! Like your videos keep them coming!!

I really like the 75. You're right... about keeping that nose up in order to get the full plop effect. But I have that same issue on all sizes of w.p. I just got it so I haven't caught a fish on it yet, but I'm sure it'll catch 'em. The hooks are super sharp. Thanks for posting your review.

oh yea you will not have a problem catching them on it just some minor imperfections that need to be worked out before i will say its one of my favorite top waters i belive the rear hook needs to be upgraded to a little larger size for more staying power and stability thanks for your comment and showing some love !!

Put some water proof carpet or some other pad on the floor of your canoe to reduce sounds when you move around! Loud sounds that you hear in the canoe are cannon shots to the fish!

Great video! Great review! If you are fishing stained water of any sort the Bass will be close to the structure unless the water is less than 6 feet deep. They use their lateral line to hunt in stained water along with structure to ambush. Keep up the good work!

It's so cute. Lol I was just using my 130 to no avail! I got skunked. Nice first fish again! I find that the 90 doesn't "plop" so much as "splash". I have to retrieve so fast to keep it up and the action going that it sounds more like a buzz bait. The 130 just plops along with a deep "plopping" sound. (I do like the size of the 90 though. It's good all-around size)

My 90 sucks in big water like reservoirs and natural lakes...but in tough bite too calm days its a good one.....110 is a great success and when im in clear water the130 is absolutely amazing!!!!! BUT!!!! I have to make really long casts with it to catch something and it's always a big fish!!! BUT!!!!!! Half the time its a big pike half the time its a 5 to 8lbs bass.....

The 90 and 75 require you to hold the tip up a bit, the 110 and 130 seem to have an easier time starting and maintaining their action.

I may have a helpful tip for you on how you might be more successful with your hook-sets ( particularly the direction you load up ) If you’ll set to the side as opposed to pulling up like we’re all used to doing with a jig or worm you’ll notice your hook up ratio staying more consistent. The reason being is you’re not having to drive the hooks into the roof of the mouth when using lures with under trebles and winding up on the fish tends to open it’s mouth during that process leaving you with know it alls like myself critiquing your shit.. Thanks for the video tho brotha, keep at it with this little adjustment in mind and keep making these trips for us to go on with you good fun! ✊🏻

Maybe leave the #4 on the rear hook hanger and put a #2 on the front? Lil added weight may help with it rolling and hookups. Great video and you earned a subscriber.
