That’s not true Ottoman Empire has treated everyone equally but Palestinians weren’t able to sell their lands to non ottoman citizens mostly Jews who offers triple of its worth. So they fought to ottomans with British people and stabbed them in the back. Today they are paying its price.

Wrong. They didn't treated people equally, more so Christians and Jews. How short of a memory could you possibly have when the ottoman Turks lead to what was the greatest genocide of Christians under it's rule . The 30 year genocide and the genocide of Armenian Christians. So bad was it that 2 million Christians died. The Jews deserve a homeland away from islamic rule and so do Christians, we're not your Dhimmis

@@danieljakes5949 Sorry but u are wrong one here, If you do research, you can find evidence with historical photographs that Armenians teamed up with the Russians and massacred Turks and Muslims in the east of the Ottoman Empire starting from the Balkan Wars. What you wrote is nothing but exaggerated lies of the Russians and Europeans who won the war to make the Turks look bad and to get rid of their own crimes against humanity. Can you explain why France does what it does in Africa and why it has lands that do not have its own borders (where black people live overseas France lands?) Why do they not show you the massacres committed by the Russians against the Turks in history lessons Currently, the official languages of all Turkish states except Turkey are Russian, Why did the British colonials always have a problems except 1-2 places? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circassian_genocide (An example of the Russians' genocide) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Massacres_committed_by_the_United_Kingdom (The list of Great Britain is long) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/France_and_the_Rwandan_genocide (An example from the French: French genocide is all over Africa.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herero_and_Nama_genocide (Germany's example in Africa, everyone knows Germany only for the Holocaust, but they love to ignore what it did in Africa because each of them is the same.) I'm sorry, but my past is not full of massacres because there was no concept of Nation in the Ottoman Empire. In particular, even though the religion of the empire was Islam, Muslims were not seen as a superior race because even if a person is not a Muslim today, he may be tomorrow, so the evil you do to that person now may affect you tomorrow. There was no prevailing view that would see people as second class. In fact, if you look at the simplest example, the Arabs under the Ottoman Empire, they say that the Ottomans do not value Muslims and claim that they rebelled, the Greeks and Armenians say the same, and the funniest part is that we, as the Turks who pay the most taxes, say the same thing, but the others are good and we are the bad ones. I am aware that it has been a long article, I hope you will re-evaluate your knowledge and research history impartially, because the most popular history in our world is a history written by those who won the wars, where the strong are always the best and the losers are the worst.

Great video...it brings up many historical facts that the world today chooses to ignore. If one goes to Jerusalem today you'd have no idea what Col. Kemp is referring to as it's all built up around the Old City. But if you read Mark Twain's account of his trip to Palestine then it was only desolation and disappointing. Even the account of Capt. Chas. Warren suggests that the land was barren. Contrast that with the Torah and accounts of Judea before and during the Roman occupation which suggest that it was indeed a land rich and flowing with milk and honey. The problem is that the world today does not care about history. We see in America that it's nothing to lie and rewrite history, tearing down monuments erected to remember and sometimes to celebrate history. So great as this video is, not the UN, nor a sizable portion of the world cares a fig about what really existed in the "Holy Land"...they only care about what fits their ignorant agenda. Their behavior and attitudes are more akin to the Grand Inquisition than the 20th or 21st centuries. Col. Kemp is quite a leader and very courageous to stand on the side of truth and historical fact when many like him choose not to.

@@kursat7977 Zionism as a political movement and organisation was created in 1896 but the idea of establishing a Jewish homeland in Palestine predates Herzl's political movement (see proto-zionism) the first migration (aliyah) into Palestine occurred between 1881 and 1903 and the aim of this Aliyah was to prepare an agricultural workforce. the lands bought prior to the Aliyah were not random. the foundation of agricultural schools and neighborhoods were part of an economic development plan made explicit in the Basel agreement of the first zionist congress. Abdulhamit was aware of the plan and the desire to establish a jewish homeland in Palestine, as you said through Herzl and also through the young turks. He did refuse the idea but there was not much he could do about it as he was under a lot of debt and was eventually overthrown by the committee of union and progress (associated with the young turks). Camondo the banker of Abdulhamit supported the CUP. For me the lack of transparency and the under the table land dealings are perhaps what caused the Palestinains to adopt a hostile stance against the Jewish settlers. no proper dialogue ever took place

This briefly mentions a very important fact why Jews came to Palestine in the late 1800s. Through the 19th century Russia threatened to retake Constantinople for Christians. Britain and France allied with the Ottomans, afraid that Russia would gain a port in the Mediterranean. One cost of this aid was the Turks had to agree to give Christians and Jews equal rights with Muslims. For Jews suffering pogroms in Europe, the idea of living in Palestine was inviting. The local Arabs were horrified of the idea that Jews might gain a majority and have a say in governing their own towns. It was Muslim hostility to treating other religions equally that led the Jews to realize they needed their own nation to ever be free.

@@aasimkarbhari7470 If what you are saying is about the Islamic world, which is believed to be more advanced during their golden age than people in Europe, the reasons have absolutely nothing to do with Islamic religion, apart from their mandate to develop military expansion and strength. Many do not know that the scientific advances credited to Islam at the time were actually borrowed from other cultures conquered by Muslims. Perhaps you have also never been told that almost all the scientists and cultural icons who were said to be Muslims in the golden age period were often considered heretics. For example, one of the greatest achievements believed to come out of the Islamic world was the Persian scientist and philosopher, al-Razi. Many Muslims are proud of his works and are often used as 'proof' of Islamic progress. But what is often left out is that not only al-Razi is criticized but many of them such as Ibn Sina, Ibn Rushd, Al-Bairuni, Al-Khawarazmi, Omar Khayyam and many others are accused of apostasy because they follow their own beliefs which are very contrary to traditional Islam. Even so, we can all take the words of Al-Razi for the good of fellow human beings who once wrote in his book that humans are better off without religion. Today, the record of Islamic science and technology achievements are only best known for turning Western technology, such as cell phones and airplanes, into instruments of genocide in the name of “الله”

@@svart7716 Are you sure the Ottomans treated the Jews nicely? As far as I'm concerned, many of their non-Muslim daughters were kidnapped and made into sex slaves and kept in the Sultan's palace. Of course the Sultan treated them nicely because he can have all the sex. My point is that the religion of Islam is not a good teaching. During the 700 years of rule what have they done besides fighting? Nothing. One of the great ironies of Islam is that non-Muslims are to be treated according to the very standards by which Muslims themselves would claim the right to violent self-defense if the the shoe were on the other foot. Strategically situated between three continents, Palestine has a tumultuous history as a crossroads for religion, culture, commerce, and politics. Palestine is the birthplace of Judaism and Christianity[1] and has been controlled by many kingdoms and powers, including Ancient Egypt, Persia, Alexander the Great and his successors, the Roman Empire, several Muslim dynasties, and the Crusaders. In modern times, the area was ruled by the Ottoman Empire, then the United Kingdom and since 1948 it has been divided into Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Maps of Ottoman Palestine showing the Kaza subdivisions. The region was among the earliest in the world to see human habitation, agricultural communities and civilization. The Canaanites established independent city-states that were influenced by the surrounding civilizations, among them Egypt, which ruled the area in the Late Bronze Age. The Assyrians conquered Palestine in the 8th century BCE, then the Babylonians in c. 601 BCE, followed by the Persians who conquered the Babylonian Empire in 539 BCE. Alexander the Great conquered Palestine in the late 330s BCE, beginning a long period of Hellenization. In the late 2nd century BCE, the semi-independent Hasmonean kingdom conquered most of Palestine but the kingdom gradually became a vassal of Rome, which annexed Palestine in 6 BCE. Roman rule was troubled by Jewish rebellions, which Rome answered with by destroying the Jews' temple. In the 4th century, as the Roman Empire Christened, Palestine became a center of Christianity, attracting pilgrims, monks and scholars.

This is getting to the heart of the threat to indigenous people all over the world, whether north American Indians, aboriginal Australians or those we now call Palestinians. They very often led pastoral, nomadic lives, often herding and grazing, and very much attuned to what nature could provide sustainably. Indeed, this was the reality of human existence until about 12,000 years ago when farming facilitated permanent settlements. It seems fair and just that ancestral rights are recognised in international law.

I agree, although your comment borders on condescendingly nature-izing those "indigenous" peoples. They also came and settled, and they often did not live sustainably "attuned" with nature. They are humans like any other. The have the rights only because they were there first, that's all

Oh if you want to pull the indigenous people card - please eat your hat cause in this land they are the Jews - descendants of peril called ancient Israelites and Canaanite from 3000-4000 thousand years ago . Apropos nomadism - population of this land led sedentary was of life for thousands of years before 1800-s , most lived in small townships and villages and engaged in agriculture; nothing like aboriginal people of Australia who had not known agriculture or native Americans for whom corn was available, but they still mostly relied on hunting for their subsistence/ Stop pretending that you know something and better read than comment and embarrass yourself

Amazing the extent to which you people will go to justify chucking people out of their houses and land and establishing an apartheid system. How were the Jews being treated in the Ottoman empire compared to Europe at the time? Dhimmi status means they and their religious practices were protected by the state, along with Christians, due to being 'people of the book', without having to serve in the military. What was Jew and non-European Christians' status under the crusaders or the Romans? Please read The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine by Ilan Pappe, an Israeli academic, to see through this misleading propaganda. There is no justification for apartheid and ethnic cleansing, no matter who perpetrates it or their religion.
@davidjukebox
@davidjukebox Жыл бұрын
So what? It makes no difference about Dhimmi status. It's not relevant to sovereignty of land. The only relevance is land rights and now the western concept of self-determination (which is not a human right, just a desire). I agree with you in regards to land property rights - personally, I think this has to be part of repatriation of ingenious people, so-called Palestinians, who would in fact become Israelis. And too Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. But this would require an acceptance of Israeli sovereignty, as under the British or The Ottoman's as no-property rights can be respected and followed if there is no one who can govern it. And as Israel is sovereign, Palestinian insistence of undoing this is flagrant disregard for the concept of law. I have huge sympathy for those who lost their land (and should also say about living conditions of Palestinians), but practically speaking... how can someone prove a historic (yet still applicable) claim of land? Frankly, this is a huge problem. My land? Was it? What is your claim to it? Frankly, we have gone based that - unless there are clear and obvious cases and people can prove their claims (which should definitely be respected) even in regards to the State of Israel as a whole. Palestinians have no legitimate claim to Israel but insist on it. All of it. Even though this is only really Western Palestine. So no wonder why these claims cannot be verified or supported because there are no grounds for them. But Palestinians do have legitimate claims to land on Israeli soil and also likely a claim to Israeli nationality and rights. The situation is not negotiable unless it becomes negotiable. Beyond personal claims of land, there is no basis for Palestine beyond as a state unless the people accept what was gifted to them (really! a gift) or negotiate different solution with Israel (and perhaps Jordan and Syria, should they care for these so called Palestinian lands).

Palestine or Not Palestine. The presence of Jews wear only one of the many minority under the Ottoman Turkish empire. There was no Palestine as well no Israel. The two came in to being under the Zionist Jews as soon as they claimed the land for them self. Palestinian as locals, took their identity to distinguish them self from new comers. Religion divides do not unite humanity, "the Devil is he ho divides," In the old biblical scriptures (Aramaic.) Let it be a lesson to all religious fanatics, "If that is the case then give back to Caesar that is to Caesars." The Turks have a clam to it, the Romans, Greeks, Egypt. It dose not work that way.

There we're two Jewish states even before Islam was a thing in that land . Why do Muslims deny that jews belonged to the Levant? Secondly mizrhahi Jews we're all expelled from Muslim nations and now account for over 60% of the Jewish population in Israel, where should they go to? Expelling them was a sign that they didn't belong in the Arab world , they belonged to the Levant
