My theory is that they thought that they were supposed to pick one sound effect to use every time they were prompted, not different sound effects for each situation. It's important to keep in mind when watching Whose Line that not everyone in the audience is a long time fan or anything, they only get the 5-second explanation Drew gives them. :)

It's likely the result of anxiety. In heightened states of anxiety, your brain can basically stop functioning properly. Likely what happened to her. Maybe then at some point, what she was doing was kind of working for laughs and she kept it going. But all the more likely, she was in a state of delirium until the trigger was over. I can empathize a lot with what she went through. It's not fun. Although, it sure was funny.
