A debate on the eve of the Second PAGE Ministerial Conference (bit.ly/2jhYyaX). Filmed at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) in Berlin on March 26th 2017.
Globalisation has created wealth across the world, lifting hundreds of millions out of extreme poverty. But has too much of the wealth ended up in the hands of too few? How can our model for globalisation be reconfigured to promote more equal, stable economies which do not overstretch environmental resources? Our current socio-economic system, many argue, is increasing inequalities and accelerating climate change and destruction of the environment. The Sustainable Development Goals - the UN’s roadmap to prosperity for all on a healthy planet - will require considerable financial resources. Many experts are now calling for a change to our entire model of doing business, by measuring national prosperity beyond GDP, sharing wealth equitably, and shifting economies to an inclusive, sustainable model. But how can these goals be met, and what are the risks to an increasingly strained global jobs market and the needs of developing nations?

Yes!!! Change the monetary system!!! Damn, that was good to the ears to hear that said. . Currently all money is created as a debt with interest attached to it. This system of perpetual debt is why we have to have perpetual growth and prosperity is stolen from the 99% and transferred to the top 1%. Public banking can create debt free to low interest loans that are intended to benefit the public and return the profits to the state from which it was taken from and intended to support. This money recycling would lower taxes, eliminate debt, create funding for infrastructure projects, education, healthcare, mass recycling projects, housing, food distribution, and any other need we have. . All debt free! government can control inflation by recycling the profits and not gambling in money markets as the private banking system does. (Hence the economic crash of '08 and the bailout with taxpayer money.) I will elaborate further if anyone doesn't understand this, so please do not hesitate to reply with a question or critique.

We live in desperationism. Whole world depends on desperation and exploitation of the poor. _"We don't want you to die but we still need you desperate, obedient and eager to wipe our precious, privileged asses. To ease our conscience we firmly believe that you wipe our asses as your personal choice and not out of heart wrenching desperation."_

Cloak InterSection I agree with the guy who mentioned changing the monetary system. Currently all money is created as a debt with interest attached. This creates a need for perpetual growth, profit, and automatic wealth inequality. If government created money debt free as has been done many times in the past, then taxes can be reduced, jobs can be created in any given sector funded by the debt free money, healthcare can be provided free to citizens, infrastructure projects could be completed without tax increases, any profits from Government loans would return to the state from which it was intended to help support, renewable energy projects can be completely quickly and on a mass scale. . the possibilities are endless and the results would be sustainability if implemented correctly.

People have to decide whether material prosperity all that there is or there is something beyond materialism. I think people will turn to spiritualism in droves because materialism are not satisfying people any more.
