Great advice and great shooting there. I finally managed to put three rounds through the same hole with the 243 yesterday at 100 metres, took it to 200 and just dialed up accordingly, and like you said it just grouped. As you say, it is largely consistent, repeatable technique, and most ammunition in a modern rifle will shoot very effectively. I had the opportunity to use a high end 308 bolt action with Swarovski glass at the same time, and whilst it was fantastic to shoot, I didn't do any better than with my standard 243 and a Redfield.

I’m going to start off saying I have no first hand experience with the 350 legend. But I personally can’t wait to see it stretched out to 1000 yds. With the lower BC bullets and long flight times the wind will be your main limiting factor. I think it would really be cool to set up some water jugs out to the further ranges to see remaining energy. Cool video

If you haven't already done it, swap your trigger springs for the one made by MCARBO. They sell a kit for the Ruger American and its the best $12 you will ever spend. The next best upgrade is a Boyds stock. The factory Ruger stock flexes too much and changes POI depending if you load the bipod or not. With those two upgrades, my Ruger American Predators are crazy accurate.

Picked up a Franchi Momentum in 350 a month ago and took my first deer with it 4 days ago. So far I like the round for a deer gun in lower Michigan. In my state though I doubt most people will shot past 200 yards which is why I think a lot of people say it's a 2-300 yard gun. Loved watching this video!

Good shooting. There's a big difference in caliber and B.C. here compared to other better for long range calibers. Then you go 600 hundred yards and that's a good shot. Above that, even with better calibers the farther you go up toward 1000 yards is another step up. Problem ain't so much elevation, the wind however is a big problem. Slow moving, low B.C. is like a fat round man swimming in big waves!🤣😂 Keep'em coming!

@@bennorwood5181 in Vermont we can hunt with whatever center fire cartridge we want and I hunt with a .350, a lot of people do. Then again my max shot yardage is like 70-80 yards, most of them are around 50 cause our woods are so thickly vegetated. 30/30’s are popular but I wanted an AR to hunt with so I bought a .350.

@@sleeper.simulant7327 Me too. Same situation here, & for most of, Georgia. I wanted a larger bore rifle, for hunting. That was good shooting. I think .350 Legend has a muzzle velocity comparable to the 7.62x39, a bit less, so it must be a well designed bullet that flies better than 7.62x39 because I think hitting at 700 yards would be lucky with Russian M43. I could also hear some wind where you were shooting. Either way, that’s impressive you were able to repeat. A little off topic. I was in a gun shop today buying .308. I almost went home with a Ruger American in 6.5 Creedmore. The only reason I did not was I think that will be a problem to feed it. I asked the shop owner and in his opinion .30-06 is easier to come by now. I dunno. I liked it. I might reconsider. That’s a cool round.

@@cablainmusic It has gotten somewhat better. I just came across a couple of boxes of Federal Fusion 6.5 at Wally Workd. Still way more expensive than .308, which is about the cheapest deer capable caliber I’ve been able to find... still. I’ve found some for low $20’s. Can’t find any 6.5 for that. I did wind up getting a Tikka T3x Superlight in 6.5 CM. Super nice rifle.

Yea it will make it. AP2020 had hits with his ar15 350ledgen out past 300 yards. But the think is should you. The bullet runs out of lot of energy at that range. Remember the 350ledgen is loaded with .355 bullets. So basically a 9mm pill only few are load to 357 pills. The 350ledgen is inside 200 or less deer rifle.

I have a recipe for loading Hornady 165gr FTX. It’s supersonic to 494 yards. I’m getting 2324 FPS with chrono at 10 feet. It’s not going to hit 1,000 yards. You’ll have more than 100 MOA drop with energy under 180 ft/lbs. It takes 400 ft/lbs or more to break skin.
@QuickDrawWP3 жыл бұрын

Seems like a 200 yard deer rifle for an ethical shot with windy conditions.Dont get me wrong, shoot steel at whatever you want to try, but you have to be able to hold that vital shot in far more stressful conditions than sitting at a bench. It's a pretty pugdy squatty little bullet compared to a .308 180 boat tail spitzer. Bc of a potato, relatively. However, with the majority of game shot inside of 200 yards and the starting velocity being what it is, it's perfectly adequate for it's intended purpose if the nut behind the trigger is torqued properly.
