I have a .50 Caliber bullet which I picked up on a street in Santo Domingo in May, 1965 when I was a platoon commander in the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines. The fifty calibers were being fired regularly and this bullet has run out of energy and dropped to the street. It is home, where it has been for more than 50 years. It is an impressive chunk of metal.

WHO-TEE-WHO: been watching your channel for a couple of weeks now but after this one I had to subscribe. Don't change the paper plate test it definitely gives a good perspective of how much power and energy is expended. One suggestion wrap the stack with saran wrap or glad wrap this would keep the plates together and tight. You could also but a colored plate at given intervals ie, every 100 plates. Thanks for your vids. and keep them coming

50 BMG is No joke. The round used by the military were loaded in my home county. The surplus from many years ago was brought in , disassembled ,tumbled , resized and reloaded with new powder in the late 90’s , the old powder was kept north of town in a underground bunker . One night supposedly static electricity set it all off. Blue ground to sky lightning is what it looked like. Look here on KZbin. Mason County WVA TNT Bunker Blows . It used to be on here.

Nearly every test I have seen involving 50 BMG vs "Something" the round always deflects off at some stage, not a great bullet for very deep penetration but will certainly stop anything it hits lol

There is no lead in any.50 bmg round. It's either soft steel or heat treated hard steel (armour piercing).

I was thinking you could spread corn on a field for about two years, make sure the field is well into someones private property, so you can keep it off limits to hunters so that the deer population can explode.Then, in year 3, let them deer get on that corn, and wait until you can get about 10 of them in a row, and with one trigger pull, you can feed the family for at least a year!

Insert labelled tags to stick out the side of the stack at known counts of plates. If each pack is 200 or 500. Tag those increments. It'll make it easier to count, and the video watcher can guess how deep into the stack a bullet will reach.

Yeah, it was neat but you kind of blew the test by firing both, especially near the same spot. some of that damage could have been the second round penetrating further then the first because of the trauma of the first....then it may have hit the first causing the explosion out the top.
