I was at this show in the Macon Coliseum, a venue which afterwards would host house shows. Since that fateful night in December 1997 I've seen many events in the Coliseum including; WCW, WWE & TNA house shows, Alice Cooper, Frampton, Skynyrd, Ringling Brothers and many regional touring acts. I've never seen a crowd as receptive and vocal as they were at this Nitro. I absolutely felt like a long night of sports and promos but it worked for the live audience because it seemingly never let up. I can understand the television audience being perplexed or turned off by the n.W.o. broadcast however it worked for the live crowd.

Tony asked why Kidman was scratching himself. From what I've read he was supposed to be playing a sort of extremely underspoken heroin addict gimmick. His finisher was even called the 7 year itch. But this is stupid and wrong. As a heroin user for over 12 years who has in the past been homeless in several different states and endured all the horrors of drug prohibition from deaths to prostitution to cardboard beds to prison etc let me say the scratching deal is only for people beginning heroin use and sometimes people who've used for a long time then quit then return to it after a long break but that phase goes away after awhile and surely a consistent user wouldn't really be doing that much of it not to mention when it happens it's a more aggressive itching and it's not exclusive to the face by any means. The other way it can happen which is very bad is sometimes the cut of the dope can cause itching and that may fool people into thinking it's good dope but no if your cut is making you itch your slamming bad gear. Lastly liver problems. When your bilaburin (bile) levels are very high extreme itching ensues however there's lots of reasons for a bad liver. Besides what I read about Kidmans gimmick may not be true first of all but even if it is after you hear all the shoots and general interviews about standard and practices and time warner and WCW censors it is just baffling that WCW would even go that route.

Proof?

@@rackballjones6585 ok well first it sucks to have to preface but it is the internet. So I'm talking to u 1 fan to another. Not sure if ur intention is to argue or something but for now I'm looking at it two fans discussing something. That being said, I'm curious if your a new fan or a young fan, NOT THAT THERES ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT! I am only asking so I know whether or not you were watching the Monday night war live as it happened or if you are maybe watching it now via the WWE Network or however. I was a jr high schooler/high school freshman during the Monday night war and it was like my biggest obsession. I got sent away in May 2000 and I was gone for 3 years. I remember the last RAW I saw HBK had come back and he was gonna guest ref an iron man match between HHH and The Rock. A few days later I was gone and got my wrestling updates from a kind staff person where I was as I had no contact with the outside world. I couldnt believe it when he told me WWF bought WCW. The internet wasnt what it is today not even close but there was alot of wrestling stuff even back then. AOL chats were routinely overflowing with us all debating the wars. Ravens flock had its fans. I can still remember someone had a screen name SickBoy something with numbers .. yea, guys like Sick Boy who were totally irrelevant had devoted fans. Glacier too. So things like gimmicks were discussed alot too. So, you asked for proof and I am assuming you want proof about the gimmick... because why would you want proof about my heroin life? So with that understanding here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Kidman First its mentioned in his wiki Next. whatculture.com/wwe/10-wrestling-gimmicks-that-went-way-over-everyone-s-heads?page=8 Heres a whatculture article about it I believe hes around number 4 Next is Reddit amp.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/596517/is_nikki_cross_character_meant_to_be_a_heroin/ There are a couple random convos where people talk about it heres just one. Next some random guy on twitter tweeting about it mobile.twitter.com/MikeBeauvais/status/1187811090576629761 And lastly heres a cage side seats article mentioning it. There are more but I figured this all should suffice to prove it was a thing www.cagesideseats.com/2013/2/27/4035024/underrated-and-under-appreciated-wrestler-series-billy-kidman

Conrad and Tony made this episode of Nitro hilarious. In reality, this sucked. No wonder people flipped to Raw when this takeover by NWO happened. I loved WCW too. I agreed with Conrad, this was the worst go home episode EVER. They could have the takeover by NWO in 3 segments. This was about kissing Hogan and Bishoff's ass.
