1)Neutral is the node where all three phase voltage becomes zero. 2) Neutral point even if not earthed you will not get shock if the neutral is perfect 0 voltage exactly. 3) Neutral earthing is for protection TRIP and in this case you can say neutral earthing is a return path to flaow back the fault current /leakage current. 4) unbalanced condition there will be neutral to having some potential as the result of inductive load or leading lagging effect. 5) in a balanced load condition... The current flow up to neutral point where it is extended from star point of transformer, that means every utilities having neutral point through our wiring, so the current (flow of electrons) traveling up to where it meets the neutral termination (neutral point) it is a coplete stop of electron flow, why because of low potential already met. And the 230 V (high potential) causes the the electron flow through the conductor to low potential up to 0 Volt, that is neutral termination, in our case each utilities we have neutral terminal wired, so exactly up to that point only the electron folw is possible. 6) if, flow of electron through the conductor due to potential difference is called current, then this current will not flow beyond neutral point terminal where 0 Volt is there. 7) In this case neutral cable is not a return path but the point where the electron flow to be end or a break to flow.. stop.. to flow... Why beacuase we extended the transformer neutral by the line up to our door step 8) That is current flow in each phase is from actualy neutral to neutral only.. In bete ween these two neutral the flow of direction is changing to and from... that current path is our phase line and our load is included... More clearly one end of phase is connected at orgin of neutral that is from our transformer/Generator star point and other end of phase is we connecting to the utility side neutral that we extended from same origin of neutral (from same transformer or generator neutral) between these two neutral point the voltage and thereby the electrons are making a shuttle service in ' to and fro' direction.... So neutral is not exactly a return path at perfect balanced system.....

Hello Sir വളരെ ഉപകരപ്പെട്ട വീഡിയോ. ഒരു സംശയം ചോദിക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ വീട് ടെർമിനൽ പോസ്റ്റിൽ നിന്നും ആണ്. അത്യവാശ്യം ഇടി വെട്ടിന്റെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട്. KSEB യിൽ ഈ പ്രശനം അറിയിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർ ന്യൂട്രൽ പോസ്റ്റിൽ നിന്നു ഏർത് ചെയ്തു തന്നു. പക്ഷെ, ഞാൻ ഒരു മൾട്ടി മീറ്റർ ഉപയയോഗിച്ചു N-E വോൾറ്റേജ് ടെസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ കിട്ടുന്നത് 9 വോൾട് ആണ്. ഏർത്തിങ് ബൾബ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചു ടെസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു, എല്ലാം ok ആണ്, ELCB ,ഡ്രിപ് ആകുന്നു. പക്ഷെ ഒരു ചെറിയ ഇടി വെട്ട് ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും, ചില സമയത്തു മെയിൻ സ്വിച്ച് ഓഫ് ആണെങ്കിൽ പോലും സ്വിച്ച് ബോര്ഡില് നിന്നു സ്പർക്/സൗണ്ട് ഒക്കെ കേൾക്കാം. ഇതു ഒരു സീരിയസ് പ്രോബ്ലെം ആണോ..? N/E =9V

In any three phase system if the nuteral is removed or disconnected in the souce due to damage. will lead to 2 phase system in single phase. Because of this phase returning from load at different sources to nuteral line as at this sitution all loads will act as series returning the phase to nuteral line. Thus nuteral line act as a phase. So nuteral line is very important in three phase system.

Assuming a Y configuration with a neutral. Since the voltage is 415 volts line to line, you will get 240 v from line to neutral but removing one phase and the neutral it will leave you 415 volts line to line.

Neutral wire must have cut or loose connection at transformer neutral point.this will cause double phase at consumer house that is 415 v between phase and neutral.

Sir ഒരു സംശയം, നമ്മൾ wiring ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ ഓരോ load നോക്കി wire ന്റെ gauge തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നത്,മിനിമം 1mm മുതല്‍ cooker ന് 10mm വരെ ഇടുന്നത്, അതിനുള്ള isolator, mcb ഒക്കെ fit ചെയ്യുന്നത്, എന്നാൽ post ഇല്‍ നിന്നും മീറ്റർ ലേക്ക് വരുന്ന service wire 2 / 2.5 mm wire ആണ്‌, നമ്മുടെ full load current ഈ wire ഇല്‍ കൂടി അല്ലേ pass ചെയ്യുന്നത്, പിന്നെ എന്തിനാണ് work ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നത്, ഇനി kwh മീറ്റർ ലെ internal connection എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് current coil സീരീസ് ആയും potential coil parallel ആയും connect ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്, എങ്ങനെ ആയാലും building ന്റെ full load current, current coil ഇല്‍ കൂടി pass ചെയതു service wire ഇല്‍ കൂടി line ഇല്‍ അല്ലേ പോകുന്നത്, enguninnum ഒരു വ്യക്തമായ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞില്ല

I had single phase supply in my house. and. i had two nos. 1.5 ton inverter type split air conditioners in the circuit.. For one of the them direct line had been taken from the meter box after the fuse with a separate breaker whereas for the other supply was coming through the RCCB. Recently the motherboard in the external unit of split Airconditioner getting power without an RCCB faile. IThe motherboard was replaced with a new one at a cost of. Rs 7000/-. The newly replaced mother board also failed in one week time. This time the company replaced it free of. cost

Bit the technician of the air conditioning company expressed a doubt that lightning surge might have caused the motherboard failure I got the power supply to the house change to 3 phase. and put an RCCB to cover all the three phases. Will it help to prevent any further failure of motherboards of air condoitioners.? Should I add a type. 1+2 SPD in the circuit with a separate earthing to prevent recurrence of such failures?

If there is no return path voltage imbalance will occur and sometime either of the phase may have a high voltage of maximum equal to the line voltage in this case it may upto 415v

വീട്ടിൽ എവിടെയോ 30m.Amp (മില്ലി ആംമ്പിയർ) താഴെ ഏർത്ത് ലീകേജ് ഉണ്ട്... വൈകീട്ട് വോൾട്ടേജ് കുറയുന്നതോട് കൂടി 230 volt ൽ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കേണ്ട ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം 190 volt ൽ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കേണ്ടി വരുമ്പോൾ current( ampere) കൂടുതൽ എടുക്കേണ്ടി വരും.. അതോടൊപ്പം leakage current ഉം 30 m.Amp നു മുകളിൽ വരികയും RCCB trip ആവുകയും ചെയ്യും.. ആദ്യം ഒരു നല്ല electrician നെ വിളിച്ചു വീട്ടിലെ ഏർത്ത് ലീകേജ് പ്രശ്നം പരിഹരിക്കുക.. തത്കാലം ഈ സമയങ്ങളിൽ heavy loaded equipments like washing machine, heaters, induction, motors and Ac പ്രവൃത്തിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കുക... Tripping ഒഴിവാക്കാം. Rccb മാറ്റി tripping current limit 30 m.Amp പകരം 100 m.Amp ആക്കിയാൽ.. ഒരു താൽക്കാലിക ശമനം
