Quote of the Day: Question 🙋‍♂️ when will Our so called Leaders ever get serious about prioritizing policies that will benefit everyone? These Leaders are supposed to be making our lives little bit better.

I thought that the Politicians work for us the american people. Apparently not. Just like the resident of the united states. Who made himself richer. And the american people poor. That's why I want trump in the white house. Because he works for us.

*_The question is inherently misleading._* From the citizen's perspective, we understand the government is "supposed" to benefit the people ...but from the perspective of the majority of politicians, people are cattle and a source of revenue to profit from. From the politician's perspective, if the people would just bow down and obey, the world would be a better place. So the fact is, while there are a few "leaders" who would like to see positive change, assuming or expecting the majority to ever do so is naive.

One reason that projecting (unsubstantiated allegations against opponent for the very offenses the projectionist actually committed), is that even when the projecting offender is found guilty, and even if the courts' verdicts are believed, the audience often believes that "everyone does it" (commits the offenses). This form of gaslighting contributes to followers of the offender continuing their loyalty OR not voting at all.

The display of democracy in the U.S. is slow, choices, decisions may be unstable, changing with each administration change. This is why people want change. They refuse to accept what would make it better…EDUCATION. Ever so slowly, Americans are being forced to see that they must actually use critical thinking to decide on the best laws, for which politicians/law makers they should vote. NO ONE wants to think they might have work… to study, actually become informed voters.
@jmb3608

@@elliinc266 And yet, they don't seem to be very good at it since they keep voting against their own interests, don't they? In addition, I don't see why voting often should be necessarily cheered on - given that policies take time to be implemented and show their results or not... It would be much better for all parties to find some sort of consensus about what is really important for everyone to have this prosperity you're talking about. But this is not happening when the only debates are about "the horrible state at the border" (for example) instead of "let's talk about policies that we can all agree on". And the same can be said about any other subject. Grievances as opposed to trying to find possible solutions seem to be the only rules in politics these days, wherever you live on the planet...
@jmb3608
@jmb3608 5 ай бұрын
@@elliinc266 Perhaps that’s the idea in an ideal society, which is far from what you currently have. What do you call a group of people who are elected and re-elected all their lives then, if not “a caste that have interests that are separate from their electors’ ”? And when you know that this “caste of re-elected people” is paid (bribed?) by wealthy oligarchs who expect to be sent back the favors in the form of political decisions, I wonder what “free society where everyone has equal opportunities” you believe you live in… Then, you add to that judges who are appointed for life to rule over the majority, and who are paid (bribed?) by the same wealthy people, and your “free society” is complete. So, it isn’t a question of holding elections often, but to indeed have the opportunity to really change the people who are actually elected. Limited number of mandates maybe, but I’m not even sure this is the best solution… Seriously, do those elected people often change? What “frequent interchange” are you talking about? It rarely happens in actuality. I’d say that the Citizens United decision which resulted in dark money being channeled into politics was the worst decision made by SCOTUS in your country, a decision which goes against the ideals you’ve just described. In your country, there are elections every four years or even every two years, and the years in between often consist in campaigning and looking for donations for the next election… Edited for typos.

“IN 1991, PERUVIAN NOVELIST MARIO VARGAS LLOSA scandalized the Mexican political establishment by describing Mexico as "the perfect dictatorship." "The perfect dictatorship is not communism, not the Soviet Union, not Cuba, but Mexico, because it is a camouflaged dictatorship," he argued. "It may not seem to be a dictatorship, but it has all of the characteristics of a dictatorship; the perpetuation, not of one person, but of an irremovable party, a party that allows sufficient space for criticism, provided such criticism serves to maintain the appearance of a democratic party, but which suppresses by all means, including the worst, whatever criticism may threaten its perpetuation in power."” What Mario Vargas saw exists not just in Mexico, but it's something we can currently see in most countries, including the U.S., Australia, Canada, UK, etc. The original comment by @papajeff5486 was correct. What would make things better is EDUCATION and critical thinking. However, even most teachers in the U.S. are oblivious to the fact that we have what's called a "Prussian" based education system, including the ramifications it has on our children. In simplest terms, the Prussian based education system is deliberately designed to remove the Trivium (aka. Logic, Grammar, and Rhetoric). P.S. - The Trivium is also known as the "Liberal arts" (Aka "freedom arts" ...not to be confused with liberals), because without it, freedom becomes unattainable.

Ukraine isn't a democracy. In democracies there is more than one TV Channel, main political parties and main Christian denominations aren't banned, no mass extrajudicial killings, disappearances and torture, men from 18 to 60 aren't banned from leaving the country, people aren't rounded up in the streets and dragged to their death. Democracies hold elections after all. Well, it's a quote from The Time article. Zelenskyy top advisers say about him: “He deludes himself, ” one of his closest aides tells me in frustration. “We’re out of options. We’re not winning. But try telling him that. It is immovable, verging on the messianic.” One Austrian artist was in a similar state in 1945. Zelenskyy "achievements" to date: 500,000 Ukrainians are dead, 3x that mangled and crippled for life, half of Ukraine's population is living as refugees scattered all over Europe and Russia right now, they're drafting women because they've run out of men to kidnap off the streets, gyms and public transport. NYT wrote about these mass kidnappings that were happening only in Zelenskyy Ukraine and Hitler's Germany in 1945 in an article ‘People Snatchers’.

I have been an Independent for over 30 years because neither party represents the majority of us. Extremist on both sides try to pit everyone against each other. Republicans have embraced leaders that lie to stay in power like our ex president. Until Republicans come to their senses I will be voting with Democrats... I am NOT scared... I VOTE
