Why 2JZ oil changes are the worst!!

FYI If you replace the rear diff oil it uses the same metal gaskets as the oil plug (remember to get 2 for drain & fill ports)

Indeed a oil filter relocation kit so its relocated to the side of the transmission and it's mounted pointing directly DOWN for ease of change.

I did this last weekend and I reached for the filter from above with throw away rag right below the filter for oil spill. It was a pain but got it done. I agree, I too hate this oil filter placement design. I think the new Subaru engine design has DIYers in mind. The new boxer engine has the filter on top of the engine.

I usually can't fit my arm in from the top, plus I'm always dropping the wrench so i find it easier for me to do it from the bottom. The top mount subaru ones are nice! I still have nightmares about the bottom mount ones surrounded by the exhaust manifolds tho 😂

Honestly probably not even a huge difference, but my dealer doesn't stock the g's like they do the d's and I'm a little impatient lol

It's a full synthetic and I usually use about 6q
