Nasus Renekton and Udyr would all be fire. Nasus and Renekton would also make a great 2s team. Udyr you can pair with Sejuani or Lee Sin

While I basically agree with everything you said, this is a F2P game by Riot Games; I barely dare hope for an arcade mode with story intros and outros, and this does sound a bit more involved. And obligatory reminder that while we don't know the actual launch roster, we can be reasonably certain that back in June 2022 they were considering Ahri, Akali, Blitzcrank, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Ezreal, Illaoi, Jinx, Karma, Katarina, Kindred, Lux, Rengar, Riven, Samira, Senna, Sett, Teemo, Thresh, Vi, Yasuo, and Zed. So, predominantly humans, but with a handful of others as well.

Well, game is free, and you might get behind in term of skills compared to others. But I understand why do that. But maybe at least trying the game when it's out just to see if you like it.

Kindred isn't a 2-in-1. She's a puppet character IMO, ala Zato1 from Guilty Gear, with Wolf as the puppet, considering that it's mainly Lamb that the player controls.

Ooohhh agree with so much here. the pairs concept is fantastic and i can see so many good options. Though personally im hoping for some of the exceptionally weird picks, like vel'koz, zac, nunu, etc. Fiddles, kindred, and tahm are also great, and I could see tahm having a mechanic that if he gets the last hit on an enemy, he eats them which gives him some buffs or the like, and prevents the other team from using their last stand assist. also, with the yordles even if they dont want to adjust height, if they are creative they can make more then just kled and rumble work. Vex could have her shadow constantly towering above her, Lulu could have pix hovering above her alreadly large hat, corki has the plane, fizz'z default position could be perched on his trident, and poppys hammer could count as a hit box. Theyve got options. just gotta take em.

Last hit Tahm Kench is awesome and I agree with all the Yordle stuff. Especially the Vex shadow one. There are ways they could do it

Interesting problem that actually arises from a story mode - it enforces a priority on a region of champs in particular, like with the yasuo ahri example, it would enforce a priority in which yone and riven would need to be prioritised and built out before other potentially more interesting champs for a fighting game. Because of the way league lore is, any story written to fit the fighting game might feel either cobbled together and not as fluid as say an mk story or enforce champion limitations which fights against your want for stuff like rengar etc. So story modes would have to be very limited and avoid showcasing champs that normally the focus would draw towards given the context.

Cool video, and I totally agree with you. But honestly, I don’t think they’re gonna do it for a few reasons. I’d love to hear your take on them too. First, Riot has always focused on what makes their games fun - and that’s PvP. We’ve seen it with League for over a decade, then with Valorant, and now with 2v2 KO. These games are built to be PvP-focused, and that’s their core identity. Second, if they start focusing on PvE, it’ll take attention away from PvP - and that’s not something Riot wants. They’re all about keeping players engaged in competitive modes, not splitting focus between PvP and PvE. Third, they know they’ll eventually make PvE-focused games using these IPs. So why change direction now? It’s like League - we rarely got PvE modes because we all know an MMO is coming, plus other single-player games in the works. I think the same thing applies to Valorant.

Your probably right and the focus is on PvP right now. Maybe PvE will come later but the cast can be expanded. Also the Riot MMO will definitely cover the lore I’m with you. But small character stories. The stories that would be difficult to tell in an MMO where you are the player character. I think 2XKO would be great for that! I like the idea of non human characters. But I can understand riot taking simple characters at first and then expand on more complex characters. Characters like Fiddlesticks and Blitzcrank are cool characters that can fit different fighting characters archetypes. But with characters like Maokai and Ivern I think it is hard to create a move set that makes sense in a fighting game. I even think doing characters like Aatrox and Galio is a bad idea because to shrink those characters down so much in a fighting game is rather hard and wouldn’t make much sense. It works perfectly in league but I don’t think it would work that well in 2xko. I say this as an Aatrox even if it hurts me. I fully support your idea but understand riot taking an easy route for the beginning since they are not fully done with the game and are adjusting things in the game to make it as good as possible on the release. Hope we can see Complex and interesting characters in the future of 2xko.

I personally believe 2xko's roster should exclusively be melee toplaners instead of random popular champs Edit: As for story, simply put it should be a separate semi alternate story then a continuation of the lore

while making all melee would be easier, there should be some variety like they did with Ahri a ranged champ but for 2xko they made her a zoner. if they were to include someone like lux, I don't think they would give her the staff though which lore wise I'm not even sure she needs lol, but I feel like they should definitely retcon some things gameplay wise or better don't make it connected the actual lol lore so the characters won't be so restricted to what they can do with them

I wouldnt mind some variety but as for story I would be fine with the semi alternate form. As long as we get some! The Riot MMO can progress the lore and 2XKO stories can flesh out the past and small side stories. 2XKO is short for "Double Knockout"'. Both are four syllables long. Why is the acronym as long as the entire phrase? It also rolls off the tongue worse. Not to mention how completely generic it is. Imagine if everyone was talking about how hype the Sephiroth boss battle was in RPG Game 7.
