Whilst these points are valid, the 50/50 discourse was never about the intangibles. It was mostly about the financials. Living in certain economies REQUIRE that ur household be a dual-income one over a single-income. Ultimately i subscribe to choosing what works best for u and ur partner, as opposed to following arbitrary rules.

Even with financials, should everything be 50/50? If one person earned £50k and the other earned £20k, should they both contribute equally or proportionally to their earnings? Is it okay for one spouse to be struggling month to month while the other is living an exceptional lifestyle? Each to their own, but from our perspective, it's important for us to operate as one team. We have a "yours in mine" mentality, and we try to do what's necessary for the family.
