Hi Paul & the team. We've been really diligent in looking after our fifth wheel - it's an expensive item after all, and we have a checklist of things that get looked over... and I agree maintenance is key. We have encountered some build related problems too, but we know that not everything is perfect, and we've dealt with it. This would be a good thing to talk about as part of the handover with new customers as it's really useful information for us all.

Hi Paul & gang. Good advice (as usual), thanks. How about a video on 5th wheel hitch maintenance - including the differences between the Reese & Curt units ?

Good idea I’ll have a look at doing one of those thanks for following the channel

Great video. I assume this applies to caravans too....which no one ever thinks about siliconing. I will eventually buy one of your RV's, just need to sort the current caravan, caravan storage and most importantly the vehicle to tow with....especially in this terrible climate of uncertainty around diesel, petrol and EV vehicles....awful! Hopefully, some common sense will prevail.

Thanks for following the channel. Hope the video is useful for everybody that has a Caravan or 5th Wheel generally the only reason you get damp is lack of maintenance

Sikaflex would probably do a much better (and longer lasting?) job than silicone Dave.

Hi Dave , yes you’re right. Not sure what Dave, and Ashley use but I’ll find out. Thanks for following the channel. All the best Paul.

I'm not too sure how to take this video, You're showing badly maintained 5th Wheelers then saying these are our rental vehicles.... [Are you saying you don't maintain your rental vehicles?....

this particular one has been on rent for five years the customer was doing a self build on a barn conversion it was two years old when we rented it so hadn’t had any maintenance for seven years. Totally our fault one always slips through the net It was purely the worst one I could find to demonstrate. Thanks for your comment. Appreciate you following the channel if you’ve any ideas on videos or information you require let me know all the best Paul.

The price of these units , the quality should be no less than 30 years. The design of these units are absolute shit. Think like a rain drop and if you cant. Maybe make bump outs sealed 1 piece fiberglass or other synthetic . Problem is they want them to fail. But for the price people are paying for these units there should be no excuse.

@@dsawyer8 hi the problem is when they leak is down to the environment and how they are maintained. It’s a bit like your car if you don’t service it it will fall to bits. If you don’t check your gutters and downpipes on our house you’ll get water problems it’s nothing really to do with the build quality they sell millions in the USA and Canada where the weather can go from - 20 to +40 so there is going to be expansion and contraction servicing and general maintenance will prolong the life of your van. Thanks for your comment. Hope this helps all the best Paul.
