Most of the times Embid "draws" fauls he is floping or making offensive fauls. I think referees should know him at this point.

This is where I don’t agree fully. He’s a master at recognizing contact, even then where’s only a slight bit of it. Yeah sometimes he gets ‘superstar’ calls due to amount of times he actually plays with the ball, but most of the time - you can actually see a foul there. I’d question the NBA rulebook more here

One thing makes all that craze for individual stats rather stupid. 3rd place Sixers play against dead last Spurs, Embiid as MVP candidate has no physical match there, drops record points against poor defense and still it was rather a close game. Come on. This is why individual stats mean little for me personally.
@kurdan9848

Embiid is the refs favourite player. You can never defend him with any real effort. This means he'll either get an easy shot or get free throws. Then the playoffs start and they allow defenses to be more agressive and he is lost. He'll have 2 MVP's while never going past the 2nd round. Any other player would be crucified for it.

On 75% FG though. (Embiid, 54% FG)...Doncic also had 61.5% on three points. (Embiid 33%), no player in NBA history has ever been this efficient while scoring +70. That being said, Neither Embiid nor Doncic should be MVP imo. And none of this matters if these types of performances can't be produced in a playoff environement. Let's keep this in perspective; benchmarks are lauded when they're not passed often. Roger Banister with the first sub-4 min mile was considered an impossible feat. His record lasted 1.5 months. A year later, 3 sprinters broke the 4 minute barrier in 1 race. In the NFL, 200+ yard receiving game was once inconceivable. 24 of the 50 greatest single game performances by a WR happened in the past 20 years. *It's not that impressive anymore.* QB single season passing record was held by Dan Marino for 27 seasons. It has been passed 11 times since Drew Brees in 2011. The same is happening in the NBA with 4 60+ point performances inside 1 week. 1 person does it, and it inspires others. That's thr quintessential human spirit and resolve. Rather than denigrate it, we should just appreciate it.

People hate Embiid because every Philly star is hated. It’s funny seeing people say “foul merchant” because they never watch him play. He gets fouled because of his usage and how often he is attacking the rim. Much like Giannis getting fouled a lot. Wilt also got fouled a lot, Pettit, Shaq, Iverson, etc. people just hate Embiid because he doesn’t shy away from it because he can make his free throws. Doing something only 8 other players have ever done is by definition impressive. Congrats to him it’s a cool milestone to have.

As you said. The Spurs decided to actually play defense in the last 4-5 minutes of the 4th quarter. This, and only this, plus the fact that the Spurs are a young team in development mode, is why Embiid was able to be a high volume scorer, and Philly was able to win this one. The same night KAT scored 62, and the Wolves, also a good deep team lost to Charlotte. Let's be real. Charlotte sucks and is among the very bottom part of the power rankings this season, trending downwards now that Rosier has been dealt. Now someone make this make sense. The Thimberwolves showed up this season. Both defensively and offensively. Ant is a superstar. Rudy reinvented himself in Minny and is great at what he does. That McDaniels kid plays great defense I must say. Naz is a great. Conley is great for a vet guard. They are deep as hell. They currently share 1st place in the west with OKC, and they manage to lose to Charlotte, because KAT decides to be a volume scorer, and Charlotte unlike San Antonio manages to stop the shenanigans in the 4th quarter, and KAT gets benched, which should have been done way earlier in my opinion. Damn what a night that was. :D

I don't know that much about the exact ruling of the foul calls for embiid.. but to me, it feels like he isn't allowed to be touched only a little bit by defenders (compared to other guys in the league that can be guarded waay more physical). I feel like there is no question that he is a very very talented player.. but in my eyes (I admit casual eyes) the amount of ft's he gets is kind of bs.

NBA is more and more about offense each season. Even guys like Shaq who used to always preach "tough defense" are now saying teams just need to get a few stops defensively at the end of games to be a championship contender. Guys are just so good offensively--plus the anti-defense rules--that bad teams don't even try.

@@gabepizza Milutinov is currently in top 5 centers in world.Has big basketball IQ and is very very strong,but before gold medal game was tied.Have you seen what avramovic and dobric did to shai who averages 30pts in NBA,he was totally cut off.USA still has athelticism and best scoring team,but we ll see what will happen since the worlx caught uo with USA,firat 15 best bballers are frok NBA then comes euroleague.From this USA team of last wc 2023 only Edwards is good,others are really junk,if there wasnt edwards it would have been fiasco.I see brunson is averaging a lot of points in NBA in euroleague he would have had difficulties cathing up.What i would like to see most is duel between Nikola Kalinic and Kawhi Leonard.Leonard is my favourite player from NBA,Kalinic from both euroleage and serbia.They play forward,both are same age and same size and are prime in their position in their leagues.Kalinic is also a monster in both defence and offense.Reason for barças loss against real in Semis last year is Saras benching Kalinic in 2nd half.This season he plays 25+min and we see results,currently best and most important player of barça.It will be one hell of a duel since Kalinic is in someways european Kawhi Leonard,and basically only player from Serbia who could guard Lebron

@@ChoongaLoonga you can't say a Euroleague center is one of the best in the world because the competition is so much less. I mean 2 of the 3 last Euroleague MVPs, Vezenkov and Micic, come into the NBA and can barely get off the bench. The other recent Euroleague player, Mirotic, was a role player at best in the NBA. Can you imagine the other way around? Jokic and Embiid go to Euroleague and get DNPs. lol

The biggest problem with embiiid is all the fouls he draws. He draws WAAAY too many cause just staring at him wrongly is a foul apparently ... And then when defences load up on him in thr playoffs and he needs to learn new passing angles he has refused to. other centres like Shaq and Jok have learned and adopted these. I just hope he works on his passing or at least Nurse changes the Philly's offence so that passing chances are far more open and clear for Emb in those situations.
