Everyone says the Deadside of the Zone is the best place for Pro Fortnite players to place themselves... so why are none of them there?
Zone Priority is a theory that most players never truly think deeply about. Yet, there's a very simple formula you can apply to almost every Fortnite match to give yourself the best midgame rotations. Applying these small tips and tricks can help you improve your Chapter 4 Season 2 or season 3 cash cup or FNCS placements massively.

Absolutely insane to hear about the competitive side of FN, since as a casual player I've pretty much given up on understanding how it all works. I had no clue there was so much psychology and land tactioning involved

i used to be tapped into it around world cup time, i played hella arena and got to the highest rank most seasons before i stopped playing, and getting back into the game now is like a whole different experience. The strategies and mechanics i used to get consistent double digit kills and wins with are just standard now, damn near necessary to play casual, its crazy

My favorite part in the video was when the PC user said "ah yeah. It's PC-ing time, and then proceeded to build a 15 story luxury palace with jaccuzis in every room in 2 seconds while shooting back at the entire lobby and landing every shot.

bro this type of analying for fortnite is amazing its the reason why ive always thought highly of how complex fortnite comp is. So much high level thinking goes into just simple things everything has a complex understanding for it and it makes the game so unique while also being very pleasing to look at.

I love the fact you are putting names on something i work with my players since a while Usually i called it "middle" for high priority area, then "suburbs" for medium priority areas and edges for low priority areas But i love that kind of content, the motion design is perfect, it shows perfectly what's explained, it is clear, and the video is really dynamic ! I'm not a competitive player but learning about storm surge makes me wonder: what would happen if storm surge thresholds weren't communicated? since players can see if they're above or below the threshold, players above are allowed to play passively and camp as much as they like, which puts initiative on those below. But if players didn't see, then all players would be similarly encouraged to play fast and loose and aggressive for fear of finding themselves below the threshold; not knowing the conditions of the match might produce more exciting outcomes this way, and it becomes more of a mental notes type of thing. Similar to how uber counting works in a game like team fortress 2, where keeping track of the enemy team's uber is never something you can truly know, but you keep mental notes on damage your team has done to the enemy medic's heal targets as well as how much time has passed to make an educated guess on their uber percentage and plan your strategies accordingly. Competitive TF2 would be MUCH less interesting to play and watch if both teams could see the enemy medic's ubercharge %, because it takes out some of the strategizing and makes engagements more predictable.

Players would just keep a reasonable count of how much damage they did and estimate how much damage they would need to do based on the zone they were in. "We did 1000 damage togeher and are in the 5th zone, we're probably fine" and would camp like they normally would if they knew the surge numbers

Here’s what I have gathered from your video: so if you are looting and getting materials and surge tags on players who landed near you for zones 1 & 2, then this concept is irrelevant, but then for zones 3, 4 & 5 the medium priority are key because if you pull zone then you can hold and tag the high priority players and if you do not pull zone then you get the rotation ahead of the low priority and won’t be held as there are not many high priority players at this point and then get another medium priority zone position for more surge tags on the low priority rotating players… Then by the time the 6th zone pulls you should have a lot of surge and enough to last you until the endgame from the previous medium priority positioning so instead you need to focus on getting a clean rotation and saving as many materials and heals as possible, therefore you go for a high priority position for zones 6, 7 and 8. So by the time it gets to moving zones (9, 10, 11 & 12) you have conserved as many heals and materials as possible whilst also getting enough storm surge tags to survive and get to this point of the game and then you play your normally endgame and go for a high placement which will be a lot easier due to the fact you had such good earlier positioning and have a lot more heals and mats than the majority of the other players in the game.

This is a great video, the question itself is something novel and not something covered else where. Genuinely interested in an answer as to why dead side is not always best.
@FNBRVolts
@FNBRVolts 9 ай бұрын
It’s sometimes not the best because if it gets a max pull all the low priority people can just stay there and medium priority can hold you. This turning deadside into low priority. Another reason being that if the lobby is able to get to deadside because a favorable zone pull, what is universally known as deadside becomes congested because every knows how powerful deadside is.

Or a better way to prevent being farmed by others is by getting into someone's tunnels or following another team until reaching the safe zone. And the most important is not trying to rotate in front of some teams view. For example the team on high is looking on another team, it is a chance for you to run into the safe zone.
